The BK 200 is an awesome skimmer. I actually think it's too big for the tank. LPS don't do too well in my tank and i think it's because the skimmer is pulling too much. SPS on the other hand thrive. I would buy the BK 200 again if i was looking for a skimmer for this size tank and keeping sps.

Things are looking great.

+1 on the BK skimmers, I also used a BK Mini for a couple of years. Great skimmers, and sometimes a good find on the used equipment forum.

Sweet video....did you do that with your SLR.

One suggestion I can offer is to use a tripod for nice still video and better photgraphy when possible too.

Thanks! yeah i know about the tripod but the camera is a point and shoot cheapo, with a macro lens option that you actually have to get up close to the item you're trying to video. here's what i'm using a kodak zi8. btw this camera can be plugged right into a hdtv using hdmi input for 1080p video! awesome quality vids. and the entire vid was made within 10 mins using the software that came with the cam.

reefsahoy,

what kind of foam is that that you used under the tank?

i went to kmart and bought one of those interlocking gym mat and used a razor to cut it to size. Then i used a permanent black marker to blacken the cut edges that was cut so it doesn't show grey but black at the edges of the tank. here's a pic.

nice setup man :), i am waiting for my mini 200 to kick in already! its built up foam almost to the top of the neck but nothing for skim yet ;( then again im only on day 2 lol.

thanks man, its actually collecting now woohoo :) althought lighter color than the bubble magus, but i believe this is due to the smaller cup in the last skimmer. This skimmer is soooo much wider than any other skimmer i ever had lol, love it man!!!!

Man all you guys make me want to order my next tank from him already!!! lol i was going to wait another year for my coral to grow out the tank, but damn they are nice!

reefsahoy... i am moving my tank across the house tomorrow and using the opportunity to start with a fresh sand bed. using the filter sock, about how long did it take for the sand to clear?

about 2 to 3 days to completely clear up. alot depends on how much water is being circulated through your sump too. good luck!

Thanks :) a bit of cloudiness won't hurt the corals will it? i sure hope not! because i only have a 3 day window to get this move complete :)
