My New 100 Gallon Shallow Rimless SPS Build

just read through the thread! Awesome reef. Quick question. What salt do you use and how much of a water change do you do? do you have any sump pics?

-Chris

thanks! i use reef crystals and do 10%/month or so when i get to it.

heres a pic of the sump but its not high detail cause i used my phone but you get the idea.

beautiful tank

how's the sps growth and PAR on that fixture for you? Would you ever consider switching to a ATI PM?

thanks. growth is fine and i like the fixture. i would consider the ati from the stand point of efficiency but i do like the glitter lines too. so fo me its a tossup. glitter lines at a higher cost or t5's. only you can determine that for yourself.

beautiful tank, really nice colours

Do you use a phosphate reactor or just rely on the vodka? also just wondering what you feed your fish and how much.

thanks

Simply breathtaking!!! I read the whole thread, couldn't believe the mishap with the pendant. I went with Tunze for flow because i too heard mixed reviews about the mp40's. How do they work for you? Corals look amazing and the mp40's seem to be putting out a perfect amt of indirect flow. Another question...Do you add mag supplementation to your topoff?

Thanks!!! actually i started with tunze but i couldn't stand seeing the cables in the tank. I eventually sold them off and went mp40's and i do like them better. the flip side is that they block vision because they are mounted on the side of the tank. if i ever build another tank it's definitely gonna have closed loop!

A pic of your SUMP? Awww, what came over you?

Hey Reefahoy,

I can't believe you posted a pic of the sump.

How about a video of the sump with that new HD video cam? Just pulling your leg guy.

To the rest of the world, I see his tank at least once a month and I can tell you the thing is getting better and better by the month. Don't change a thing my friend, at least for another year. I will bring the salt Tuesday.

:jester:

i used a micron pad to catch all the fine particles that washing can never fully get off of the substrate. good looking stuff

Hi mate, your tank improved incredibly since the last time i've seen it.....congratulations!!!:wavehand:

hey thanks! and i'm planning a big trip to italy to include Cinque Terre, Florence, possibly Rome again, Genova, and southern France area next year around may for 3 weeks or so. I hope to see you then!

Thanks! the glass hole product is nice. i do hear alittle trickling but i believe it's because my return pump is alittle undersize causing the water to drop into the cup and thus noise. The only other thing is if the glass hole skimming cup had a cover made for it so coralline won't grow in the cup. mine is still new and i will need to get one made.

Hi reefsahoy, fantastic tank you have there! really an inspiration to do something close to yours. May i ask what is this glass hole design? can't seem to find it on google is this a product? care to share the link. thx
