Yesterday me and my dad did some electrical wiring and made a DIY rack to hang the halides fro. We only hung one halide because the other ones metal thing which you use to hang the halide with are not there and so we have to get new ones. Also the wires and connected to the actual power yet, well do that today. Here are some pics and oh ye I get a chromi.
The chromi was alot more energetic yesterday. Today he has been hanging around in the corner.
The halide hung and we also added some power points directly above it for easy access.

Some people might think what a crap place to put this tank.
My future plans are to fix the walls and gee brock it and mabe put a pool table and a Flat screen tv.

i think its because your skimmer is just skimming small amounts of your water the way you have it set up. if you attach it so your whole over flow is going through it (through your skimmer then goes to your sump) it will work much more effectivly by filtering all your water not just small portions of it

Just say my pump does 2600 litres per hour.
On the manufacturers guide for this skimmer it said it should do 1 and halg times the water volume every hour so thats why I chucked in a 1200 litre per hour power head. If i connect the water outlet from the over flow to the skimmer and its not the correct rating what will happen?

I would give you the details but I cant be stuffed getting under the cabinet and checking it and becuase I made a upgrade so more of the tanks water will go through the skimmer. What I did was chuck in a jug where the water outlet to the frag tank is. I then chucked the power head in there which directly transfers the water to the protien skimmer. The water over flows over the jug and tips into the frag tank. Ill get some pics in around 2 hrs or so.

Some one on this thread said the skimmer want work properly.
Thats why I put the powerhead which takes the water into the skimmer and put it into a jug. The water overflows in the jug and then goes into the frag tank. The powerhead at the same time sucks water from the jug fresh from the tank into the skimmer.
