Funny as I was just coming here to update. Here's an up date. I'm working on pics
Well I don't have any pics just yet but I took the time this weekend and moved everything from the 200G holding tank into the 400. Everyone seems fine and are likeing their new home. Even my Blue Hippo tang who was usually always hiding in the rocks is not more active and out swimming in the open. The Naso's seem to like it as well.
I haven't seen much of 3 of my wrasses though, the yellow, red corris and lepoard. I have seen them swimming some the first day but didn't see them at all yesterday. I'm sure they are fine in there somewhere.
I got the OM 4 way running on a baraccuda and the fish are learning to adjust to the flow since they haven't had that kind of flow in who know how long. You can tell when they move into the current as they get blown around a little. It's interesting looking from the end of the tank as the naso's come swimming towards you and then get hit by the current and get blown sideways some, even as big as they are.
I'm waiting for a mag cleaner that will work on the thick acrylic so I can clean it good and then I'll get some pic's up of the tank. I also set up the light mover on the tank with 2 X 400W DE MH bulbs. One is a 20K and is on the end with the most sunlight. You can hardly tell it's on other than the colors in the corals come out more. The other end has a 14K bulb on it and seems just fine. It does look really nice though at night after the sun goes down. Right now I have them set up 3' apart moving 3' on a 7' long tank. I may reduce that though to 2.5' of travel so that they don't go all the way to the ends of the tank.
Pic's to come soon.
On a side note, I picked up another 400 G system a few weeks back. It was in a bussiness that a friend of mine's wife works at. They just wanted to get rid of it but didn't know how to get it out of the wall. He talked to me and said if I could get it out, I could have it. So now I have a 8'L X 4'T X 2'D, 1 1/4" thick acrylic tank sitting in my garage once again. This one has a 4' X 7' viewing area with overflows built into each end. It was used as a see thru tank in a wall. The wife has decided she wants to keep it as well so it's going to go into the wall at the other end of the sun room and become a FOWLR only because it's soo deep and would be hard/expensive to light as a reef. Work will not start on it though until after i finish the cabintry around the current 400 G project. It shold make for a interesting room once done though, a 400G reef at one end and a 400G FOWLR at the other end of a 30' long room.
