Hi,
I've been looking at your tank all night. It's beautiful. Drop dead beautiful fish. I have a question....I see you are in sales, can you get me a job where you work? ;-) I'd love to have just a tiny portion of your tank. =)

Hey how is the agression going in the tank of tnags? I have posted some items here earlier, but seem to be having issues with a Unicorn, Sailfin, Naso and Orange Shoulder yellow tang. All of which are much bigger than any you have here, the small one of the group is the sailfin at around 7.5" and we go up, both in length and girth from there. I am considering some additions to the array of sumps/tanks on the system to pull the unicorn out, but I know that will only last a few months/yr, by adding an additional 75 gallon, just for him and plumming it into the system in a tank in the stand...OYE(anyone know a good plumer-oh well after all this refit I will be a whiz at PVC..LOL) I have looked at the scale on your system and am thinking I need to go wider-say 36-48" wide 120" long and 35" high-so I can get it in the door...lol. I know I have bitten off alot with this many tangs and such large sizes at that, but the three we had since sub juvinile ~1.5-2" all grew up together, seems it is the Unicorn that is being the biggest issue. he was so submissive in the LFS tank and even in QT for 4+ weeks, then holly heak broke out when he got settled in the tank. Any suggestions...aquascaping ect or anything? Aside from moving him to a 75 gallon tank in the system, which will not last long if he grows like the others to his ~ 27+" full length...what was I thinking. Thanks and as I said before very cool tank!!

He's right, Acanthurus nigroris is identified by the black spots at the base of the dorsal and anal fins.
Thanks guys! Sure looks like one to me..

I really have seen too much aggression with the tangs. Seems to be more playing than anything else. The only problem I have is with the Sohal which is kept in check in the back corner of the tank by a couple of the yellow tangs. Not sure what size tank you have your fish in, but with the area this tank has, there is plenty of room for all, at least at this time.

Well it is a 250 gallon with all the folks in there and I agree they do seem to spare more so than actually go at it, but I suppose with the balance of the smaller yellow tangs-who are usually agressive, keeping your bigger tangs in check, that maybe the tipping point. But, like I said we may be upgrading to a much bigger tank due to the conflicts, as I see making proper accomidations needed for the fish we buy vs. getting rid of them. Hope all stays quiet in the uber reef...ROCK ON!

A few recent additions to the tank that I thought that I would post a few pictures of. The first is a Acanthurus Monroviae tang, about 9" long.

Another new tang, Yellow Belly Regal Blue tang. 6" This guy wouldn't come close to the front of the tank while I was trying to take its picture.

Last week received a nice 4" Minic Lemon Peel Tang. Doing well and getting along with everyone in the tank.

Had to get some clowns for the anenomes so I picked up 6 Pink Skunk clownfish. I fugured with 4 anenomes, they would all be happy. What happens, they all gang up on one anenome and leave the other three alone.

Well there goes the theory that "you cant put a group of Tangs together". Glad to see it too since they're some of my favorites. Excellent choice of fish! Specially since I want like 20 tangs myself.

Indeed it gives me hope for the future of the rough neighborhood at my house... ;o) I am happy to report that I have increased feeding times and amounts and things seem to be quieting down alot...although my skimmer is working OT. Keep up the pics they rock!

I have 11 in my tank and they get along just fine. :)
If I didn't miss anyone this morning, I counted 19 tangs in the tank....

holy crap thats a lot of tangs :)
how many of them are different??
5 are Yellow tangs, 1 Naso & 1 Blonde Naso, 1 regal, and 1 yellow belly regal, all the rest are individuals...

That must be the case, since that seems to have quieted the bunch in my 250 reef and that is the only thing that has changed. Course it might mean another skimmer needs to be installed....
