Powder blue at the top, dussumieri in the middle and Thompsoni at the bottom (black one).
The dussumieri, probably my favorite tang....

Thank you, just the fish I am looking for (Shoulder Tang)

Dennis

Dennis,

You have to be careful abou tselecting any tang so here are my experiences with the orange shoulder:

1. peaceful
2. detritus eater
3. massive turds.
4. gets quite large but seems to be a slower grower than most I have.
5. will make a nice meal when it all hits the fan.

Jnarowe. can you post some pics of your yellow scopas? Is it a hybrid?

I really don't know if it is a hybrid.

Here is a shot of it under stress (dark):

Here is a vid with it. It is the smaller of the "yellow" tangs. You can see it has a scopas shape but is very yellow when just cruising around. Very nearly as yellow as a yellow tang, but when stressed it turns dark rather than get the white line.

yeah, I was never a fan but I picked up the yellow scopas as a gift for a friend, but he had already gotten a yellow tang and couldn't take it. Then I saw the "regular" scopas at the LFS and it has a beautiful purple hue to it. Best looking specimen I have ever seen, and all of a sudden I have two fish I never was really interested in. I call it the CHUCK EFFECT, not to be confused with The Pattern.

Man what a nice fish tank. Wish i have one like this some day. One question for you. What do you feed your fish?
Most days it is frozen brine, mysis, and plankton. Every three or four days, I will feed flake food. Lots of nori for the tangs...

Beautiful tank! I can't get over how many fish you have. One good thing, if the economy collapses, you'll have plenty of food for a while.

hey Goodwin9 hope you get well soon that was a really knarly scar! i was once told that scars add character... if thats true you and i think it was luchbucket have quite a bit of character! you can definately lay claim to a spectacular collection of shrooms. ive never seen some of the ones you posted before. this just fueled my interest. if gas werent so expensive i would take the drive to give you a hand but then again it would be hard to use the excuse of "honey im going to buy some milk for the kids" and drive to south dakota instead!
