My NEW 9010 keeps triping my GFI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm also having the same problem with my 9010 not restarting if I unplug it/lose power. I got mine from Marine Depot as well about 3-4 weeks ago. Everytime it losses power, I have to take it out of the tank--disassemble--reassemble--place back in tank--then it will work. I agree this should not be happening, as it's a pain in the back side. Hopefully Roger can help us out with this problem. Interesting however, that we both recently got ours from Marine Depot and they are struggling to work.

yeah, if this was any other brand I'd be worried. I'm sure it will be taken care of one way or another. My friend is ordering a 9010, but I told him to wait to see what happens here first. He may end up getting it from somewhere else, not MD.

Add me to the list. When I turn off the 9010 and turn it back on again, it just sits there and chatters (as someone put it), but produces no bubbles. I need to lift it halfway out of the water or so to get it going again. The good news is that once it gets started, it's one of the best skimmers I've ever owned, creating some of the thickest foam I've ever seen.

Coincidentally (or perhaps not), I also bought mine from Marine Depot about 4 weeks ago.

Moral of the story: stop buying from Marine Depot!! Ihave had nothing but poor shopping experiences at MD, I go to Drs F&S now. It's a shame they do not carry Tunze products though. I have to say Roger is amazing in the way he deals with customers and issues I too once got one of those skimmers with a bubble on the motor block (from Marine Depot) and Roger sent me a new one that works flawlessly, quietly without any issue. Fantastic skimmer and great customer service. Please give Roger a chance to address the issue, I understand how frustrated you all are, specially with regards to the price of the 9010.

Please, send me a PM with an address and I will send a new pump ASAP. I just got back from Germany in the early morning and have a lot to catch up on but I will make this a priority. Monday will be my first day back at work but I plan to work the weekend prepping orders so we can ship out alot on Monday.

For those who have pumps that chatter and do not restart without intervention I can fix this for you. Unfortunately US pumps are the exception as we use 115V/60Hz when almost all the world is 230V 50Hz so we get a different impeller and motor. Some impellers were just a hair to large and could not restart with the backpressure of the water that is why they start so easily in air. You just need a new impeller that is 2mm shorter in diameter.
