Awesome! Nice planning on the install!
You Sir are a mad man
so I ran the water test of the closed loop. no leaks.
The sicce 16's are pretty quiet compared to a machine gun....
anyone have any recommendations for a quiet, low energy 4000gph submersible pump? I've got three of these sicces and they are annoyingly loud from two rooms away with a door closed.
Take a look at the laguna pond pumps. I have never used one but I have only heard great reviews about them and I think they are pretty efficient. The only down side is they don't stand on their own once you take them out of the leaf grates.

Are you running ocean motion units?
prickels,
Is the sound resinating in the sump?
when running, if you lift the pump off the floor of the sump - does the noise quiet down?
Nice build you have going.
Makes my 125g to 180g transfer look/seem like trading a 1/2g fish bowl for a 3/4g one.
Have you thought about/looked at the DC12000L pumps for your application?
Extremely quiet- I currently use one for my RP with a 10 ft head. You won't hear it/them.
Much less exspensive too.
I believe the empty weight was 2900 pounds not counting the stand.
2,900 including the bulkheads?
What a beast. My 400 lb. fish bowl took 4 guys to move. Don't think there are enough people in the photo.
I'm going to try to use my existing octopus sss5000 and a new octopus DC rated for 600g in tandem and see what happens. I have a 120 I'm also going to be using for a sump and going to drop both of them in there. They will be a bit undersized, but I will also have a ton of rock (hehe literally). If those don't work, i guess I'll get one of those ginormous things.
how is the sss5000 working for you? i am torn between an aquamaxx cone 7 or lifereef vs372 . i have about the same water volume as you.
FISH WALL, loving it. Definitely subscribed to this!! :spin1:
