My New AGE tank build! It's big! ~1500g DT

in place. Amazingly and kudos to fishy bizness, the plan went flawlessly. I expected it to get done several hours after dark as several things went wrong, but it worked on the first try. I think start to finish was less than an hour and a half.

AGE do make really nice tanks. Any rough idea on the empty weight of that bad boy? When I got my 265 last year, I had considered a bigger custom tank, but the weight difference scared me off (400 lbs for my 265 versus over 1,000 for the custom tank).

Did you build all those 'tables' just to facilitate delivery (looks like it)? Good luck, should be awesome.

The last pic with the guys standing next to it really gives you the size perspective. That thing is massive.

What type of overflow did you end up with then?
Looks to be a few holes drilled at the top of the tank.

It looks like it was built very well. I believe the empty weight was 2900 pounds not counting the stand. I figure the completed weight to be near 20000 pounds which is why we repoured the floor to 18 inches of reinforced concrete.

the tables were built specifically to move it. They were definitely needed.

when I first saw it in place I thought, "oh no, it's too big!" Now I'm used to it.

If you look up "ghost overflow", it's very similar to that.

Very cool build. What skimmer did you end up choosing? I'm in the same boat setting up a large tank and not completely decided on a slimmer.

I'm going to try to use my existing octopus sss5000 and a new octopus DC rated for 600g in tandem and see what happens. I have a 120 I'm also going to be using for a sump and going to drop both of them in there. They will be a bit undersized, but I will also have a ton of rock (hehe literally). If those don't work, i guess I'll get one of those ginormous things.

NICE MAN i knoqw its hard being patient with this kindf of thing u want to see it with water in it

I really do! I took most of this past week off to work on it and I've got it mostly plumbed and I'm gunning to try to do a water test this weekend. I don't know that I can get all the way to putting my rocks and sand into it and starting to fill it too though this weekend.
