We have a successful bonding of haddoni and tank raised clowns! They love him.
My only concern is that the haddoni might not make it... I hope it does... His mouth is open a lot more now than yesterday.. He also shrank a lil and testicles aren't as open as yesterday too.. I hope this is just shipping stress and he will slowly get stronger.

Todd, did something happen to your red haddoni?
Hmmm... I've never seen a Anemone's testicles.![]()
Yeah, I was stupid. Picked up a purple S. Haddoni, it started to look "off", ended up moving it to another tank with a different Haddoni (( my tan one that I had had for 12+ years )). Long story short, the purple one had some sort of infection, took out all 3.
Dang, that sucks...I've always wanted a red and a blue... We'll see how I do with this blue before I get a red...
Mine hasn't gone through a deflation/inflation cycle, but its mouth has stayed a little bit open consistently...
A couple of days to a couple of weeks. Usually IME(unfortunately) the expanding and contracting starts speeding up until the anemone no long expands anymore. Either way that blue one is too expensive to throw out before it is truly dead.
For those that have lost haddonis, how long is the death cycle? How long did it take to die. Im trying to figure out if mine is a goner or if its just doing weird stuff..
I definitely dont want to just toss him.. Trying to figure out if he's a goner or not! Today, his mouth was tightly closed for about an hour.. I thought things were going to be good... but later today his stomach protruded again... and then there's that 14 day warantee from Diver'sDen.

WOW !!!
that really stinks.
I have been keeping carpets for as long as i have reef tank and it's almost been 2 decades now and i been up and down that road. Right now i have what i have and feel content with what i have. I saw 2 nice carpets on a website from a guy i know very well, one blue and one pruple for a price that is unseen before but i opt not to get my hands on those especially the purple one looks fantastic. for 2 reasons: 1) i dont want to go through another ordeal of constant ups and downs for days and weeks worrying about the condition of the new animal. 2) things are not broken and i am content with what i have so i can't be greedy and ask for more as i risk losing it all.
Recently a local reefer offer a super bright green haddoni for $75 and it has been in captive for years, once again i passed up the opportunity becuase like i said above. It actually agitate me and annoy me for not getting those anemones, but i know in the short/long run i will be happier by not taking a chance.
Everytime we add a living animal into our tank we risk adding unwanted parasite or illness and all that......... and of course i know you knew all that but i am just saying it here for those that are new.
haha i tried bringing that up to after he did it, but i dont think anyone caught what he said.
Like I said earlier, I had a red one go through this cycle for months (too many pics to post). I kept LA updated for the first few days but that 2 weeks flew by. When my anemone finally died I was SOL on my $700 guarantee. LA asked that I should have kept them more updated.
I would send them daily emails, I might even pull the trigger at the 13 day mark if I had a do-over (it was for surr in the "death cycle". I know it was no fault of mine that the anemone died. I have since acquired a slew of antibiotics for my next red haddoni..
