my new carpet SHOULD be a gig ... right ..??

I picked this up yesterday, and I am QTing it right now with cipro, as per Orion's sticky thread up top. I bought it thinking it was a gig for SURE, but why doesn't it have purple verrucae? There are definite bumps, but they sure aren't purple ... other than that, there's not "lipstick", or pronounced mouth as haddoni's have ... the tentacles are too long for a haddoni ... LMK what you guys think!

I'm really excited about this new addition, and I have my fingers crossed that it'll make it. I've had my blue gig for almost 2 years now, so I'm hoping to QT this one and add him in :)

Thanks
Jamie

no purple verrucae

top down---he's stressed :(

I agree with the experts... what's interesting, it looks like my green Gidonni hybrid (Gig & Haddoni)... Same look, no noticeable distinct verracue... Check out my green gig thread, I wouldn't be surprised if they turn out the same. I'm tagging along so I can watch the progress.

thanks for the responses, everyone!

still has not deflated yet, mouth is SLIGHTLY open/mostly closed today...but still super stressed (balding pattern) :(

xtlosx, i checked out your thread, and to me, it seems to be a gigantea as well. how's it doing these days?

He should be fine, mine was open\closed for a while and the balding pattern will go away eventually. For the first two months I fed both of my gigs almost daily, and it showed.. They grew like crazy and balding went away.

My green still has some bald'ish spots, but there are baby tents growing everywhere, so I expect a full recovery within another 3-6 months.. In general the green gig moved around from the top of the rock, and hasn't left his spot at the base of my rock tower. His foot is firmly planted on the bottom glass. I can see that from under my stand. The foot is probably 6" in size, it's HUGE. He eats like a pig, and is large, but not as shaggy as my purple. When the pedal moves around, i can see nice solid purple verracue which wasn't the case originally.. it looked just like yours, faint.. I have a feeling mine wasn't "sick" but stressed to a real bad degree and it will just take longer to get back to health.

Good luck keep us posted..
