my new fish need help

......so again i appologize for a very crappy tittle on this thread,if i could edit it i would.....as i said though my clown looks like it has ich or air bubbles on it and its a bit hard to tell.......mods if ya can edit my thread tittle i would appreciate it and again any thoughts and comments are appreciated

Mario get that QT tank up to par and you will have better luck. I would suspect ich being present from other fish you have had in there and these new fish succumbing to it because of sub par conditions within the tank before I would believe SA sent you sick fish.

as i would tell this to anyone too with this problem,this is not the case,this is a brand new 10g tank from walmart along with a new heater,powerhead and filter that has never been in a tank before.......so like i keep saying i dont know exactly what it is,is it ich? beats me because i dont see spots, but she acts like it at times,scratching and twitching......is there anything that our fish can get that have similar symtoms like the ones they get ich? and um im not sure how this will come off but if a few repliers to my thread here would read all the posts on here and not just a few of them, i made a mistake in making the title of my thread,im sorry again, it would not let me change the title......could the fish i got have come in with something,i dont know,maybe maybe not,all because so many get fish that are fine dosent mean that one shipment cant,am i bashing SA....NO...i paid a low price on exactly what i ordered and even got some cool free food with them.....i do not know if the fish had something when they came from SA or not....or if something happened at AC before my wife picked them up for me....chances point more i suppose that its a problem on my end, however as i said it is a new tank and nothing in it is used or from another tank....so yes im confused as to this one fishes reactions here when she scratches and such and im not seeing spots so i am going to buy some copper,may or may not be the best brand,im not close to a LFS and right now im on a ghetto budget lol...ill keep it on hand to monitor them but in the end if i cant seem to find answers i will use it because they cant just live in the QT and im not gonna risk infecting my display........again guys who read and have read my thread in complete and have tried to help me....THANK YOU....to any that wish to just reply because ya have only read 1 or 2 posts then please dont bother or pm the person ya wish to comment to because im trying to figure this problem out not get into a fight with anyone or constantly repeat that i am not bashing SA......AC.....or anyone because it is stated as so within the first few posts......again all helpful thoughts and questions and comments welcomed because i sure as H$#@ dont get whats going on and im needing ones like you for advice....anyways thanks CEEGEE because what ya said wasnt brought up,but thats not the problem either

To everyone posting!!!! Mario DID said that he feels he made a mistake posting a wrong title from his following post so we ALL should give him some slack! MUST read his complete posting before judging what he have said. As Matt have stated that they do sent off their fish for testing but you just never know sometimes it might just be well hidden. We all should not be so harsh with Mario cause we're NOT there to view the fish ourselves to see exactly what the problem is. I have personally have ran into problems like this before dealing with someone else long ago. Not with ich, but with some other issues that they denied. But they were the ONLY person who I got the stuffs from. So all we say here is here say and we don't really know ourselves. I vouch for SA myself cause I got several fish from them throughout the years and all are healthy and thriving. Except one that jumped...

thanks mike,im just worried over my little clown anyways guys i went to walmart and bought 2 treatments and wondered if ya can help me out here they are in pics,they state that they are for fresh water fish, but dont state that they are for saltwater though they dont state that they can not be used for saltwater,i looked at her when we got back aand she has one speck on her chin but that could have been a very small micro bubble so im not sure on that however the small clown is now acting weird,it tilted a bit side ways and did a seizure like motion,kinda like he was trying to get something off him......could they have flukes or something like that? sorry i didnt get a vid of that,i just now noticed it......thanks guys

I would think that medication that says "Freshwater" and doesn't mention saltwater are for Freshwater use only. If it doesn't mention or say "saltwater" on the bottle, might not be useful for marine parasites.

I have some CopperSafe, Mario (never opened) and an API Copper test kit (1 test permormed on my tap water) that you are welcome to - maybe you could trade me something for them? I also have partially used containers of Nox-Ich (Malachite Green based medication) or Herbtana (herbal remedy) that you're welcome to as well.

Not sure how I'd get this stuff to you, however... My husband works in Nashville - I could send the stuff to work w/ him. Just let me know if you're interested.

Same here, I have a almost full bottle of Herbtanna (For Ich) It's herbal and completely Reef Safe. You can have it if you can figure a way to get it from me. I'm in Spring Hill and don't get any where near where you live.
If Rhett is out in your area maybe he can hook up with you somewhere good for both of you as i live close to him. LMK if this can work for you? I'll check with Rhett and LYK

Well, I know that Copper and Nox-Ich treat both Ich and Marine Velvet (and probably other parasites). The Herbtana doesn't kill the parasites outright like chemicals do, but helps promote healing by stimulating/supporting the fishes immune sysyem.

Guys step in if I am wrong, but the little clown turning sideways and doing a little seizuring sounds like normal clown behavior to me. Isn't that submissive behavior? Once again, I am far from a clown expert but I do believe I have read that somewhere

i believe that is normal too,however they both are doing it at times and there is an obvious differance in the two clowns where one is almost fully grown and is the female and the other in very very little but again they both do that at times and the blenny acts up too by racing up and down the glass like i said before in the thread

That is a normal thing for a male clown to do yes. I watch mine do it all the time. I've got two pairs, one pair I had for 6 years and the other pair I had for 5 years.

Do you have a pump running in that QT tank? If not I would get a airstone in there if you don't have a pump running for aeration. It just sounds like they're gasping for air from some of your post. Insufficient oxygenation!!!! That happened to me when I was a newbie to saltwater. I lost some fish do to that reason.

update: i noticed that whatever is infecting my clowns is working on my blenny and he has started to scratch on the pipe in there and at times the 2 clowns are now swimming franticly... why do i get the feeling this will not end up good....if something happens for the worse then i think i may just be out of the hobby,with the ecconomy as it is,its not easy to spend so much on fish and corals and such when other things need money also

I wonder if your QT tank is cycling. I gather that your QT tank was set up rather recently. Did you season the filter block on the powerhead (seed it with filtering bacteria) by running it in a mature tank before putting it into the QT tank? Have you tested the ammonia level in your QT tank? The level may be rising and that could be irritating the fish's gills and skin.

I would also consider using dechlorinator just in case some chlorine is coming out from your RODI unit due to the dirty prefilters. As you may know, it is important to replace your prefilters regularly to protect your expensive RO membrane. If your carbon blocks on the RO unit are spent, they can let chlorine pass to your membrane and seriously damage the membrane.

the chlorine will leave the water or should if ya let it sit out befor using it, but the filter block on my power head like ya said might be the problem,i cant honestly remember if i put it in there after being in my main tank or not, however the QT did cycle completely....maybe there isnt enough bacteria in there to handle the bio-load? im doing water changes on the water everyday - every other day simply because i dont trust my test kits,i should be able to take a sample of my water to a LCFS = local crapy fish store here lol its a place i wouldnt buy anything from him other then carbon and things like that lol anyways great point TOMOKO I APPRECIATE IT

I am unable to open that video from my phone for some reason. But I did see the pump from the picture part. Are you feeding them high quality diet? Don't wait too much longer before you do the treatment. When you wait until when they're just down right sick it would be too late cause they wont pull through since they're too weak to fight off secondary infection.

i should be getting the medicine from Rhett tomorrow and ill start it them...id do hypo on them but not having a refractometer id be too scared that i might make things worse if not kill em...this is when i wish i lived close to one of ya guys,i am trying to feed em what i have which is shrimp pellets.....krill.....nori....and whatever it is SA gave with them, i havent seen what it is exactly.....the blenny is doing fine with eating i see because he is actually a poop machine and the clowns kinda eat the stuff from SA and they kinda nibbled at some nori....they looked pretty good today,the blenny freaked me out and i stuck a tool in there to try and move him,i had to shove him a bit lol but he finally moved lol
