I've been wanting a Fu for a while now. Good luck with getting him to eat frozen, he's so pretty!

Thanks. I have confidence that I will get him to eat frozen. He's in qt all by him self so that puts advantage in my court.1 on 1 training

Awesome!! I just got my first one also, such a cool fish!
Good luck on weaning it

thanks. congrats and good luck on yours. U have pics of urs???

Mine wolfed down some guppies last night. at the store he was in a tank competeing agains a V. Lionfish and 2 SFE. so now that he is alone in the qt he is having a good time with the hunting.

I was fortunate enought to watch the "dance" before he attacks.

It was like "shake, shake, shake, RAWR!" its was interesting

Ya one of the most interesting hunting behaviors I've seen yet. Very cool to watch. They have such a vibrant color to them also. I hope ours aren't the more reclusive type, although mine already spends a good amount of the time hiding but that's what they're known for so oh well. Either way I'm stoked to finally have one!!

yeah lol. im happy to finally get one. all the LFS near me(withing 20 min) could not get the Fu's. then one did and they looked like crap and were way over priced IMO.

so my uncle keeps telling me to go to the one by his house and just check it out. so this place was huge and walikng around i saw this little guy and said could you feed him. he ate live so i took him home!!

Cool find Matt! These fish do have one of the most unique hunting behaviors I've seen. Renee sez our specimen still does it when she feeds it, but whenever I'm the food god, it just scurries over and grabs the food off the line.

wow lol. lucky her. IMO when the fish get accustomer to not working for their food and its just handed to them they do not do as much natural hunting so the dance will fade IMO. hes a great little guy so far. stays where i can see him. not all to shy at this point. i hope he stays this way when he moves to the next tank

im happy i finally found a nice one. all the others that i have found have been in not the greatest shape. this guy is prime. if i could only take better photos to really show him off

try not to use the zoom on the camera. My pics arent the best, but i find that they get all blurry when I zoom in too much or in some cases at all. Or try pullin up a stool or something to act as a tripod. I also press up against the glass to take pics, to make the camera steady. Again, your new baby Fu is so cute!

You need to make sure your camera stays in the "optical zoom" range and doesn't get into the digital zoom range (there's usually a line that tells you when you press the zoom button, so stay to the left of that line).

A tripod is your best friend for shooting pix, hands down.

well sad to say that i got home today to a tank with a temp of 85.1F. checked on the fish and the Fu did not make it. other fish breathing really heavy. Moment of silence.........................................................................................

performed water change. got the temp down to 81.9. put a fan over the top to cool while i watch the temp go down

Damn mechanical malfuntions. expensive and stupid.

needless to say im a little ****ed. But things happen and im sorry the fish had to be on the recieving end of the malfuntion.

Heater replaced. New Fu ordered from DD.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I've had heaters wipe out a whole tank twice.
Hm, seems you got the Fu I was drooling over on DD ;)
Hope the other fish are ok, and again, sorry.

Yes the ither fish was ok. Breathing really heavy but fixed the issue. It just makes me mad cause I can't fully and completely control that part. Controllers are great but are not fail proof. I still think I'm tonne invest in one
