My new home tank install!!!

Jim you should integrate a frag rack system in that sump it would be awesome and give you a place to put your frags. A great and economic addition IMO. Jim's farm raised coral! I like the sound of it

Good idea Ron, I think I could work that in very easily, I don't know about the farm thing yet, but ya never know. I am going to go w/ the 150 gallon simply for the fact that if I don't I'll wish I would have, I have the extra room and the water volume will be nice too. If all goes well I should have water in the tank tonight up to the overflows at least, again if all goes well.

My wife is cleaning out the tank today (hopefully)
How did you manage to swing that

The sump sounds sweet, bigger is ALWAYS better, ;) If you want a simple 'fuge for right now throw a big wad of cheato in it.
Good luck tonight I'll be thinking about ya'll . We'll be in tomorrow for all the details :D

We got it in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 guys, 340 pounds 6+ feet in the air can you say busted guts? Seriously, it went in w/o a hitch, I didn't get it filled w/ water tonight but we got the hole cut out and everything roughed in, I think it turned out great so far, check it out from start to finish, I even got my first "fish" in tonight, a blonde kyla.............

I will start building the filtration and plumbing tommorow hopefully along with working on the trim/frame around the tank, my pump won't be in until weds. or thursday so I won't have it running until then. HUGE thanks to my buddy Bryan and my brother in law! Couldn't have done it w/o you guys!

How irresponsible, everyone knows the Blonded Kyla fish gets way to big for this size tank! You will need at least a tank with a 5000 gal capacity preferably with TV, and eventually internet connections, and a cell phone to keep it happy in captivity. Plus I hear you have to feed those things A LOT. Good luck buddy :D

As they get older they are also reported to prey on credit cards...especially the rare pierced ear variety.

All plumbing is done, down to the basement, and water and salt is in the tank, lights hung. just waiting for the return pump to come in and I'm set. More pics soon.....

NO LEAKS AT ALL!!!!

NO LEAKS AT ALL!!!!

The tank is up and running, everything works perfectly with no leaks, I added extra supports to the tank base and the pump is kick butt (blueline) it is kinda overkill but its better to overkill than to underdo it (Bryan). I added the salt and will be putting in some live rock tommorow. Right now I have 1 seio 2600gph and a seio 1500gph along with the pump pushing somewhere around 12-1300gph throttled back. Anyway here are some pics.....

Now comes the hard part, trimming the wall out around the tank, along with the aquascaping. I think I have it figured out what I'm going to use, I just hate finish work! I'll post pics of the tank trimmed out and with livestock soon........

Looks good Jim, neat and simple. I love those filter socks. What size ASM skimmer is that? Looks a lot like my equipment I'm using on my big tank. I love my ASM G4X.

Very nice! Plumbing looks clean and simple to understand. Can I borrow your set up for a couple weeks? I'll bring it back, I promise!

Jim if I was going to be in town this weekend I would come up and help you aquascape it, I love that part :) but Im off to the beach for a well earned vacation

Gee Ron, thanks for rubbing it in!!! I actually enjoy the aquascape part too, its just the finish carpentry I HATE!
Seriously though, have a great time and be safe.

Did you try to tap out the new center brace :D

I added it after the tank was filled so actually I had to tap it IN ;)

I got all the rock in (approx. 290# fiji/tonga) completely cured, and a couple corals from my old tank along w/ 2 perks, everything seems very happy and the filtration is kicking butt. I'm thinking about adding another 20-30 pounds of rock and I will be happy.

Does it suck to put a rock in, walk through the house to the living room to see how that looks, then going back to the garage to adjust the position, then back through the house to the living room to see how that looks, then back to the garage to add another rock.....?

:worried2:
