My New Neon Green BTA

Hey everyone, just got my Neon Green BTA from LA this morning, wanted to post a few pics on here. Tiny little guy, about 1-2 inches, beautiful green with tan/pinkish oral disk. I floated it for about 15-20 then dripped it for about 45-1 hour, looked pretty healthy (mouth nice and tightly closed) so I placed it on a rock. As soon as it hit the rock it attached, then slowly crept into a somewhat shadier spot where it wedged itself in. Lights must be a little bright so I dimmed my Razor on that side of the tank a bit til it gets used to it. I will try to feed it today or tomorrow to see if it'll eat, although it seems really healthy. Right now it's housed in my main 75 gallon, which you can see I'm at war with seems to be cyano. Also have a purple LTA on the other side of the tank which has been in the tank for close to 2 years. Any comments on it, suggestions? Made this thread more as a show off since I doubt I I'll have any trouble with this one.

Does anyone else have any Neon Green, or any variation of green? Post a few pics. I love green BTAs, but especially this color. I'm sure it will darken as it looks a little on the light side. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful animal, looks nice and happy in the last two pics. I like green bubble tips too, I think they are very underrated. Thanks for sharing,

well it sure is a green BTA. however i dont think it will stay that vibrant, its kinda looks a lil bleached in the pics which is causing it to look more florescent that when it will be when fully healthy.. it does look happy. just needs to color up. i would avoid feeding it till it has colored up more..

Yeah same thing I was thinking, usually when a nem is too fluorescent it means it's bleached. Once the zoo comes in more it'll gain that darker brownish color. I tried to give a tiny piece of shrimp today when I was feeding the LTA but it was having it, probably still stressed from shipping and like you said just gonna wait for it to color up a bit.

I've seen a neon orange but nothing like that. Good find!!!

Guys I need some input/help. My bta seems to have bleached and stays away from the light. Looks like it's shrinking and losing tentacles. Right now it has moved itself onto the sandbed and doesn't look too good. What can I do to save it. I will try to feed it some shrimp later but it doesn't have any reaction to food. Any help please?

Dont try to feed it, let it hang out alone for a while and try to find out why it got sick. Since it is on the sand bed it might not be a bad idea to QT it.

Not sure that it's sick. I've had this nem for about 3 weeks I got it from la. Since I got it it's been bleached but seems to keep losing color and stays shriveled. The mouth is nice and tightly closed so idk. I just don't want it to wither away.

i would say if you have a razor lower the spectrum a little.

I have lowered the light since the day I have placed it in the tank. Unfortunately it look as this nem is on its way out. I have it placed in one of those plastic holding boxes attached to the rim of my tank currently. It doesn't respond to touch nor light, also it seems as it may have begun to expel its guts. It looks as though it may be dead. I am really close to tossing it, I do not want it to nuke my tank.

Sorry, I also think it looks like it is headed out. I would only hold it longer if its foot can hold on, if it cant hold itself to a surface, its probably to far gone.

Yeah I'm just glad I caught it before it started melting. It does not attach to anything, it doesn't even respond to light or poking. I'm gonna have to toss it.
