My new projects

Will the 20K LED's produce a fluorescing effect?

In my 30 cube, I'm shooting for lower light corals and I still have 214W over it. How many watts will this LED setup be that your making? I'd love have a light that uses less power and needs bulbs less frequently.

those would make excellent easy fuge lights, if they made an all blue or a 50/50 they would be a very good regular light...

Would they really be a good fuge light? I don't know my butt from a hole in the ground when it comes to the right light for algae. I do know I need new fuge lighting, though.

all the fuge should need is something >5 ~5.5k ish..

70 bucks seems excessive for a fuge light, imo. i would go with a cheaper less efficient option.

Spectrum is important, but intensity is important too. I have a 40W Power Compact over my fuge which is about 15G.

Decided to change my tank. It'll now be a 3.8g pico:

Any updates on the 30G LED fixture?
I should get all the LEDs and drivers by this week. :)

As for my pico, I have been cycling the tank for 4 weeks now and Saturday was the first day the Nitrite was down to zero. I have added a blue legged hermit crab and a turbo snail, as diatoms (brown) have started building up.

My top-off is a custom optical top-off from AutoTopOff.com. I'm using an Aqualifter pump to top-off.

Next is setting up my Mame skimmer and adding some small test SPS frags from my 30g. After that, I'll be adding a two-part system.

Instead of using vodka again, I want to try out something new. I have now added 40ml of NP Biopellets on a TLF reactor. Note that I'm doing this since I intend this to be an SPS pico tank:

Reggie looks really good, I'm impressed. I always wanted to have a pico reef, just the concept always seemed like something you have to stay on top of religiously. I hope you will keep us updated on your progression, looks like it is going to be a great setup.

Thanks.

Btw, here are some pics of the how I did the bonsai aquascape:

Bent two acrylic tubing, connected them using Weld-on 16, and attached rocks using tie wraps and Aquamend. Nano rocks are from Macro Rocks.
