My new tank....

Jason that looks fantastic. I can't wait to see this project progress.

I think you should paint the hinges. There is a spray paint that has a hammered-look finish, in antique silver it would really compliment your cabinetry and shouldn't be too much extra work.

Keep the photos coming!

Sorry I havent gotten back with you been really tied up. Are you trying to make me look bad(it took two of us to carry it in the house) excellent job on the stand.

Got my sump today.. Its a 100g rubbermaid stock tank.. (Thanks John!) So, I am almost ready to start plumbing my drains.. The return will still have to wait until I have my sequence pumps though... One peice at a time!,.... Now, for a couple questions.. Should I hard plumb all the way to the sump, or use barbed fittings below the bulkheads, to a short peice of spa flex (about a foot), and then go hard the rest of the way to allow for settling/movement?

Ok, I have reached the point of no return! I could not figure out how to run my plumbing into the basement. I wanted to run it into the wall and down, but being a load-bearing wall, right under the wall footer is 5 doubled up 2x12's.. not something I want to drill through... So, my other option was through the floor, but I didnt want to drill 5 2" holes in the hardwood... So, I cut out a square of the hardwood, removing the peices intact, so they can be put back at a later date. I do not want to cut a box of the sub-floor out the same size though, as it will weaken the floor slightly, so from the point I am at, I will use a hole saw to go through the subfloor..:

It official, no turning back... (not that I ever intended to)

i think it was this guys. this is the build i think u are looking for i followed his build and it turned out very nice.

Yes Maino420TD was the one who inspired me, and then I copied his stand as many others did. Marino was the design genius, I wish I had his ability to put it all together. Now I have many friends who want me to build them stands with similar designs and or built in setups. None the less good luck and post pictures of your progress. Chris

Thanks for the credit guys but I have to give thanks to sonofgaladriel for the initial design. I was inspired by his stand.

Nonetheless, they all turned out great. Much better than the prefab stands.
