My new Vermiculated Angel

After years of wanting one and never seeing a healthy specimen,i picked this guy up yesterday,been in QT 6weeks,eating Rod's food and brine shrimp.Point and shoot camera:

He's been in there ~48hrs and the PBT tang shoved him around a bit,but today they are swimming minding their own business.No picking on corals or anything,so we shall see.

Just because I'm always a pessimist, I'm happy to report that I've had one for over a year and he's been a model citizen in a softy reef tank. Pretty much ate right away in QT and has done great ever since.

In the time he's been in the tank i've sat and watched him for hours and doesn not pick at any corals,he does go around picking at the liverock alot and the clams must have something tasty growing on them,cause he was picking at the side of their shell,not the mantle.So far so good.

Congrats! He looks beautiful. I had one before the hurricane. He was king of the tank and very peaceful and never picked on anyone. I think there must be collection problems with these as well as shipping.

grats, my friend used to have one that picked on his clams and corals so he had to get rid of it

There is a nice one at one of the LFS's near me. Oh Lord, I am *SO* tempted, I can hardly stand it! Plus a really stunning Goby.
I realize now, the problem with getting this larger tank. Much more temptation to buy fish and corals!
Arggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! LOL

One of my favorite fish too. I found one that was eating at the LFS and purchased it about 2 months ago. He's fat, eat's anything I put in the tank (NLS pellets, mysis, black worms, Rod's, etc.) and has all ready gotten bigger. I think the key is to be lucky and find one that can adapt to captive life. A lot of them never eat and die in a few weeks.

I wish my tank was more mature, or maybe not. I don't know if I should try one, even small in a 60 gallon. Maybe just another Centropyge..

From my limited knowledge bank on this, going small is riskier. But you really need a much larger tank for one of these.
