he took a stalk of zenia down to nothing, and i just noticed he is picking at my large colt coral....

all he does is swim by, take a quick nip as he passes it.

i put in nori twice a day, feed mysis and pellets.

any idea what i can do?

take him out. My purple tang one day decided to nip my elegance a few days later the colony was destroyed. Expensive aussie elegance no less.

Tangs aren't as reef safe as people would have you believe. I've heard several stories of hippos nipping as well. While most are safe there seems to be a rather large amount that do enjoy coral particularly LPS.

my purple tang eat all my zoos and my hippo nipped at my brain corals. I took them both out and hav'nt had any trouble since and all corals are recovering!;)

i added a couple fish, but it was a couple days after i saw him nipping at the xenia.

i have star polys, zoo's, leather, xenia, frogspawn, colt, kenya tree

and all he has touched are the tips of the colt and he mowed down a stalk of xenia.
