my pellet eating wild mandarin

My spotted eats pellets too and honestly he doesn't get spooked by anyone in the tank not even my obnoxious coral beauty lol

Mine eats anything as well, he swims around the front of the tank with all the other fish begging for food. They arent the greatest at catching moving food but he eventually gets it.

Very nice! I have a Mandarin in my tank that I acquired as part of a breakdown, and though I have not seen him eat, he is now 5 months in my tank and still looks fat and happy - so clearly is getting enough to eat somehow.

Awesome SA! Congrats are in order, for sure.

We kept a male green mandy for about 8 years or so, and it ate everything that wasn't red-hot or nailed-down. The key with these fish is to get them to RECOGNIZE all of the good things we offer them as food, but once they try one or two foods, they usually fall right in line, so your method of starting with the roe is a good way to go. Live blackworms is another good food that tends to excite mandies.
