After more attempts than I'd care to count, I've been successful getting a wild mandarin to take pellets with vigor. He's a beautiful little male and I managed to get a few pics of him tonight I thought I'd share.
No method. He just started doing it. He ate prawn roe almost immediately. Saw him chowing down on pellets about a month after introduction. I was embarrassingly happy about it.
Wow that's awesome! I would really like to get one some day, but I don't have a big enough pod population to feed you. I am envious of you! Congrats! You got a good one!
I watch mine pick at the rocks often and I swear I've seen him pick at pellets settled on the rock, but I'm not positive so I can't call it a success yet, but he's fat and happy so I'm ok if he's ok
That is amazing that he eats pellets and that he doesnt get spooked by tangs eating around him. I want a mandarin so bad that will eat pellets or flakes
