my pellet eating wild mandarin

After more attempts than I'd care to count, I've been successful getting a wild mandarin to take pellets with vigor. He's a beautiful little male and I managed to get a few pics of him tonight I thought I'd share.

You are a very lucky person. I wish I could get a mandarin to eat pellets. The fish looks great and I hope you have continued success with him.

No method. He just started doing it. He ate prawn roe almost immediately. Saw him chowing down on pellets about a month after introduction. I was embarrassingly happy about it.

He takes .5 mm Thera A NLS pellets and Sustainable Aquatics pellets with equal vigor. No flake yet.

I watch mine pick at the rocks often and I swear I've seen him pick at pellets settled on the rock, but I'm not positive so I can't call it a success yet, but he's fat and happy so I'm ok if he's ok

I keep a male and female and have to add pods every few months. Wish THEY would eat flake and pellets! Keep up the good work!

That is amazing that he eats pellets and that he doesnt get spooked by tangs eating around him. I want a mandarin so bad that will eat pellets or flakes
