my peppermint angels r going nuts

The babies just eat the cinnamon and brown sugar that falls off as the adults are chowing down but my leafy sea dragons seem to like blueberry pancakes better.

someone seems to have 20pcs of imagination.

but as they say a picture is worth 1000 words so lets see the pics. esp if your planning on selling them might as well post some pics now.

This is a great prank..... lets disect it.

For a person to have the contacts to receive 20 of the rarest fish in marine trade, they would need considerable wealth and travel in wealthy circles. That also means their supplier would have to have at LEAST 20 of these in stock!!!!!! The person able and willing to spend that much $$ on fish, would prob know a lot more about his/her own pets, then people who have never even seen one of these!!

Also, if they were going to invest that much in fish they would also know that a 120g tank for 20 fish, is downright insane. Why not pay someone to setup a 300g holding tank, or 5 125g tanks?? If a fish is worth around $8k, who cares if it costs a few thousand to setup holding bins.

Just my two cents ;)

My supplier just hooked my up with 50 Clarion Angels. I have them in an extra 125G tank with a powerhead.

Now I just need to move my 4 trios of Genicanthus Personatus to make room for the 5000lbs of Great Barrier Reef liverock that I am getting next week.

i need to mention that sea dragons are critically endangered and are internationally protected. the only public fascilities that can obtain them are placed under written agreement to breed them.
also due to the extreme depths that peppermint angels live in only 1 out of 4 divers survives going after these guys. that is why they are so rare, little third world people die trying to get them for big ballas like you. if you can produce a picture i will be thoroughly astonished. the likely hood of obtaining 20 of them at one time is next to imossible regardliess of the massive amount of money in your bank account. feeding freeze dried plankton frozen into cubes, i am sure that with that sort of diet there arent any alleged peppermint angels left to photgraph even if they did exist.

I'm sorry, I have to call BS....

That or our "playa" is just extremely ignorant and looking to "bling" up his post.

I personally think this is some dumb @ss wanting attention and is likely a nobody with two feeder goldfish and some stickers of "Dorie" on the side of the tank. Less drugs more pics!

PS Love to know where the Sea Dragons come from so we can notify the authoroties as they are highly endangered.

I actually have 20 pepermint angels myself, but I cant afford a 125. Can i get away with setting up an old 75? How about if i use air stones for oxygen and water movement.

I agree with you Petstorejunkie, but I do not agree with your previous post regarding the "little third world people" that are dying trying to get them, from the simple reason that "little third world people" wont have the money to spend on the diving equipment it takes to dive that deep for the boylei.
And nobody will go after those boyleis without the proper equipment, as even with this equipment its dangerous.
There's only one guy diving after them these days.

give me a rock and a flashlight for 8k a fish I'll bring back a bagful.
have some french toast ready for me when I come back........

The mental picture of "a little third world person" in his/her barely floating boat slapping on the rebreather or stringing mixed gas bottles on a recovery line brings a small smile to my face.

In all seriousness, however, wouldn't you like to be the person that ran into a school at about 300 feet. I sure as heck wouldn't let anyone know where they were.

all angels are territorial do not let anyone tell you diffrent but if added at same time to tank o rclose to same size your odds are better

this is so stupid.

Don't you guys know that these fish got their name from their diet requirements not their coloration? It is well known that peppermints are mined from deep in the ocean where these fish live. It is their sole source for nutrition.

Try some ocean nutrition peppermint formula and these guys will multiply like crazy. A friend of mine overfed his 40 breeder that housed a pair of these "rare" fish and he had to move out of his house as there were too many fish and they were all fighting over the bathroom.

CeeGee - the Ocean Nutrition Peppermint formula is good, but here's a tip: the cane form found at Walmart, etc. around Christmas is easier to use- We store them on a plastic tree & just grab one off every morning & hook it over the rim of the tank or on a gorgonian stem or even the acropora - Works great!!
