My Picasso is such a dummy!

I put the Magnifica in on Monday. It's been getting used to the tank, moving around a little big but looks to be settling in.

My Picasso hasn't even gone over to look at it. Not that I've seen anyway. But the Maroons have and the male is hovering around it this morning while the female is hanging in the bta.

The Picasso is just cruising the front of the tank. Though recently, it's been going over and checking out the female maroon in the bta. It even chased the female maroon when it got too feisty.

Well, personally I would not be mixing those species.
The maroons being near or in that nem will probably keep your picasso from entering at the very least, I would expect some increased aggression.

Quite the opposite. He's smart. A. Percula clowns do not invade anemones occupied by other clowns in the wild for two reasons. One they are afraid to get eaten by predators. Two they are afraid to be killed by the dominant clown of an occupied anemone. All percula clowns settle in an anemone as recently hatched juvis and wait for their turn to become a breeding male or female. See study below.

He hasn't looked at it since I introduced the Mag. I was expecting it to at least show some interest. The Maroons are in a bta in the other side of the tank. Granted its a small tank but the 190 is sitting on the floor waiting for the stand to get finished.

It's almost certain those maroons will mature and become extremely territorial and kick that picasso's but, or worse, even in a 190g

I agree with davocean,I don't see that working out.I tried a pair of percs and occys in a 240 8x2x2 with about 13 rbtas on both ends of the tank, and it didn't work.Had to pull the percs out.

Unfortunately I have to agree with what most are saying. IME Maroons tend to be the most aggressive clowns, while Percs are the most docile. Even in a large tank, it's asking for trouble. Set up another tank like you were thinking about, and place the Maroons in with a few BTAs.

I have over 10 anemones in my 100gal and a single maroon.. This guy claimed all the anemones.. I'm afraid to put my hands in the tank.. no other clown will survive..

Lol, I may just have to do that. So far the Picasso is holding its own and not letting the female boss it around.
