I have a Fungia Plate Coral. It is a green one. It's about 3" across. It apears to be bleached. It is not bright green anymore. . I recently switched from all PC lighting to a 150W MH /with two 65 W PC's.

It does have it's polyps out all the time. They are not fully extended during the day but the thing really puffs up at night. It eats readily.

Should I be concerned. How do plate corals normally appear in the day?

Those are outrageously great looking plate corals. Mine looks much more anemic than those. I've had mine a year and a half and it has never looked close to those.

Very Nice!

Here's mine, with expensive tastes, lol

This was accidental. I had a pair of clownfish that were attacking my anthias, and so put two more pairs of clownfish to distract them. It did distract them, momentarily. I caught all of them out asap, but somehow the plate got a hold of one of the poor ones who didn't make it.

Here's another picture, another day... can't quite get the color right cuz this guy is Bright orange, but you kind of get the idea
