I'm so excited, I had to post something. So, I set my tank up 2 months ago or so, and purchased my Platinums about a month after(28G JBJ Nano w/PC's). Anywho, I had a scare a couple of days ago, after introducing another fish to the tank. I noticed Ich on it and immediately yanked the thing from the tank and put it in a bucket. I was worried, so I did a 20% h20 change, and ran to the LFS for advice. They were closed, ended up going to the place I purchased My clowns the next day, and told them what was going on. I ended up opting for a "reef safe" med, and immediately dosed my tank.
Today I did a 10% and after botching that(put the siphoned water back in) and re-changing the water yet again, this time with the right water, I redosed. About an hour later, I noticed my fish were acting rather peculiar, more "flirty" than usual. I noticed them cleaning the glass near where they hang out. After an hour or so, I noticed them taking turns moving up and down in the same spot of the tank. Upon further observation, I noticed something hanging from their anal fin area. It wasn't excrement. It then clicked that the fish were spawning, and laying eggs right on the glass thermometer. I haven't counted the eggs as of yet, I'm still letting them do their "business." This is their first spawn, but I'm already thinking of taking up the challenge at raising the fry. I know I have to grow my own phyto and rotifers. I have a couple of spare tanks, as I was preparing to make a couple of hospital tanks. It would be nice if just one would survive...
