My RBTA split today. I got to watch almost all of it , it was on the glass!!! It was really neat to watch!! I was so amazed! But I have a question about that. I was once told that you should keep the anemone that has split because it will have babies?? Idk that I believe that. But I was curious as to if it was true or not. Whats the chances of it splitting again? Any info and or advice on this would be great!!! Thanks :)

You won't get "babies" since the clones will be the same sex unless you add another nem of the opposite sex. You will however get the clones splitting into clones into more clones with an occasional bud here and there... eventually you'll have a tank full of 'em =)

Thanks :) And there is another rbta anemone in there with them. So I guess we will just see what happens :) I'm super excited!! lol

I have been waiting for mine to split for 5 years. It is bery large, has a maroon clown that has lived in it for 4 years, and the clown feeds it every day. Any ideas why it doesn't split?

Idk , I've read different theories on why they split. I had 3 different rbta in the tank.(Now 4,lol) I just recently moved them all to this tank about 2 wks. I read if they are stressed they will split into 2 because 2 have a better chance at survival. So I thought maybe thats why mine did ? Cause I moved it? But its looked great the whole time all bubbled up and everything. Or maybe its just happy? I've had it for 2mnths and spot feed it twice a week with brine shrimp.
