Aquarium is only 80 lt. I have 8 seahorses. I dont know their species. I dont used protein skimmer in the tank. But there are alot of caulerpa. They have been living so long in my aquarium and they are healthy.

I have used live sea gammarus for feeding.
I have produced gammarus in another tank 1012 salinity.

Wow! Your seahorses are beautiful! What species are they? Could you give us more details on your gammarus aquarium?

i just hope those are dwarfs the tank is only 20g other then that yes they look great and would love a pop population like that.

They came from the Black Sea. Yes they are small sea horse species ( 6-7 cm). I faund them in the fish crates in the horbor. At first I thought they were dead. Maybe they were out of the water for hours. All other fish died but they lived and I took some of these beatifull animals home. I threw back most of the them into the sea in harbor. I didnt expect them to live.
But they are very durable and powerful animals, As long as they have something to eat.
My seahorses havent eaten anything that is not live yet. They have eaten only live gammarus.
Gammarus producing is very easy. They reproduce in a tank with low salinity( mine 1012), they eat everything ( fish feed, alg...) You can see alot of small gammarus in a few weeks.
To collect gammarus with a small bucket is possible.

I believe the seahorses are Hippocampus guttulatus. Very cool, not many people have them outside of public aquariums.

Can you post more on how you raise your Gammarus? I've been wanting to raise them but never can produce them in very large numbers. I'd love to hear the specifics on tank size, filtration, feeding, etc . . .

I am sorry for lating,
I think gammarus breed in low-dansity salt water (1010-1015) better normal salt water(1024-26) Filtration is made sponge filter with air powered. I am using to mix waste water(reef aquarium) and tap water.
I put large porous sponge in gammarus tank for the preservation offspring of gammarus. I can not say very clean gammarus tank. Probably not survive another live in the tank. I usually use as bait fish feed. Gammarus are very resistant organisms. Sometimes I need to clear them some of the particles when I collected I'm doing this job in the bathroom. I saw a gammarus that falling to the ground it was still alive after one week.
Whenever I get time to send new photos.
