My Simple Solana 34G

I too can't wait to see some pics, Perry! Going with the good old Phoenix, man I miss that bulb! Choice pieces bought with placement in mind, I like the way this is going.

Alright, thanks for kind words, a few crummy pics using my samsung tablet as camera, upload and editing with picassa, not the best, but the corals are showing nice signs...

Update:-)
Heading to Tampa shortly, my mission is to at least purchase a mp10 or two tunze nanos, and an ato. With 2 of my favorite all time lfs in Tampa, within 2 miles of one another, my next update should be interesting :)

Long day, just got home and hooked up some new toys... Thanks to FAOIS, I only had to visit 1 store :) After hooking up the mp10, I am so glad I decided to make this purchase! Well, here are some goodies...
mp10
ATO
Phoenix 14k 150 DE bulb
Salifert CA and MAG
Lamotte ALK
Magnet for ATO stem
Maxi 400 for top off

Excellent buys! How do you like the Lamotte Alk test? I've always heard good things about them, but I've never had any experience with them.

Thanks Kasey!
I like the Lamotte alk test kit much better than Salifert... Easy to use, consistent, and quite accurate, even after multiple tests...

Nice buy, but I expected livestock!! :)

Lol...
I tell you, real hard to resist, but I needed these upgrades for longterm health, my budget was already exceeded this trip:-) Saw many livestock I really wanted, but going to hold off awhile...

Update:

2 losses, a clown decided to jump, spooked from something I guess, found on the floor. Also lost the recent green granulosa colony which was clearly rtn, so it was pulled quickly, no fragging, just removed. Testing showed no signs parameter issues, it was a wild, I should of known better...

Good news is that I pulled some liverock(10 lbs.) and did a minor rescape, added the korillia nano into liverock structure to keep detritus from settling in center structure. I have no other livestock concerns at this time, since adding mp10, all the animals have shown improvement. I cannot believe how efficient these powerheads are, it litterally keeps all settling matter suspeded until the overflow skims off.

Water is crystal clear, 8 gallons water change last night to be sure all is good for my corals and lone fish... I recently added some 3 peppermint shrimp, serpeant star, and 6 trochus snails. I will put up a pic of new scape later when lights come on, thanks for looking... :)

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Perry.

But, it sounds like you're not discouraged. :) The Vortech pumps are amazing. Can't wait to see the new scape!

Also, thanks for the info; I might need to look into that Lamotte test. When it comes to alkalinity, I like having 2 reliable kits if I can.

looking good so far, I love my MP10 on the Solana. Any picts of the skimmer etc. Im running a tunze 9002, much better then stock.

Kasey, @ $32-$34 for kit, and less than $20 with refill option, makes it affordable while being reliable. I noticed variances with Salifert from lot to lot, back in the day, been using Lamotte for 4 years now.

BTW, not discouraged, I will look at a fish addition in next few days, and will likely add more sps. I have some ideas, the new scape gives me much more room for future growth. Thanks :)

@ Scubasamdo...

Here is a pic of the skimmer:

And a pic of the entire setup, oh yeah, I also have to have perfect water as you see my water filter next to 10 gallon top off tank. This might look cluttered for most, but as you can see, my water filter for drinking kind of odd looking, so I am fine with top off tank on countertop, it allows me to hide wires...lol...
