My Snowflake Clowns

I received these from my LFS back in May of this year. I think I recently read that ORA have released only 10 or so pairs. If this is true then I consider myself lucky.

I had a huge RBTA in the middle rockwork of my display and these two never hosted in it. I had an RBTA in the lower right side of my tank that was a quarter of the size that these two started hosting after I attempted to get the larger RBTA to move. This happened at the end of November. So, they went almost 7 months not hosting anything.

Every now and then I witness them doing a shaking and shimmering dance but based on the limited amount I've read I think it's more related to establishing dominance opposed to mating.

I'm glad everyone has enjoyed them.

The one thing I really love about snowflake clowns, and its more apparent in person than in pictures, is when you look at where the border is between orange/black and the white is that usually theres a strip of "glow-in-the-dark" looking color inbetween. If you look at the clownfish at the bottom of the first pic you can see this right behind her gill/fin area. I bet they really look stunning in person and glow under reef lighting!

Wow, very cool.

I'm currently setting up a system to breed some Snowflake's myself. Now I really can't wait (still in process of getting equipment/finding a spot)!

aquariumkeeper1 - do you already have your snowflakes? If you do, please post a picture of them. I would like to see how they look.

No I don't have them yet. I just added LR to the tank a few days ago to start the cycle. I'm just really excited and can't wait till I finally have my own pair! But when I do get them in a month or 2, i'll be sure to post some pics.

Very nice looking. My lfs has a pair of ORA snowflakes for sale, but at $750 for the pair..... OUCH!!

I have a pair of picassos and I'm hoping they start laying eggs soon. It's my understanding that Picassos may produce some snowflakes! Keepin' my fingers crossed!

now i can't wait to get a pair again.

heres my old ones before my tank crashed. they are my favorite fish! i get my pair in 3 weeks.
