Wow, you've got a nice reef tank going there! Of course, you must migrate to mainly SPS :D

I presume your LED is a DIY unit? Can you let us know what types, how many LED's, how much amps you drive them at, and how long you run the LED's? Sorry, that was 4 questions in 1.

Lastly; what are your nitrates and phosphate levels at?

Beautiful tank! Your SPS have terrific colors, you must be a good photographer as well. What kind of filtration are you running?

First off, thanks for the compliment.

The LEDs are DIY, im running 90 Bridgelux LEDS, 56 RB : 30 CW : 4 UV split between 5 4ft rails i have mounted equally spaced over the tank, with this ratio i almost run 100% on both the whites and blues and really like the color i get like that. Par is pushing 550-600 8" below the water line and 150-275 on the sand bed depending on the area of the tank. the RB run for 11 hours total and the whites for around 9 iirc.

Nitrates are undetectable and phosphates were at .031 last time i checked using the hanna phosphorus tester.

Thank you, i wouldnt go as far as saying a Good Photographer, but i do enjoy the photography side of the hobby, i am only using an entry level dslr but it works alright for me. I really have been fortunate with my SPS color and i believe its from feeding an abundance of food while maintaining low nutrient levels.

Filtration is handled by a Skimz SM161 protein skimmer, i run 250ml of GFO and 250ml of bio pellets to keep everything in check, and like i said i also feed food like crazy, at least a cube or 2 of mysis daily with nls pellets a few hours later and BRS reef chilli at 2x the recommended amount and daily. on top of that i feed cyclopleze 2x a week sometimes spot fed to acans, chalice and other lps stuff.

Much appreciated.

I think you've got the LEDs rigged up perfect. Whilst the photos posted may not be exactly what you see in person, even so, in the photos the corals have nice pop without the overall effect being too blue.

Your corals also exhibit very good colour.

Don't change a thing; keep up the good work, and in a years time this should look awesome with a bit more coal growth. :)

I'd like to think i get pretty close to wysiwyg, im really not trying to fool anyone with my photography, i tend to underexpose photos to get the corals to pop with dark backgrounds. Heres some unedited video i took today, hopefully i can get it to embed, Be sure to watch in HD, Im not full of myself so dont mind the title, i just like the youtube hits.. :)

What is your water parameters?

Parameters are pretty standard, like i stated above nitrates are undetectable and my last test phosphates were .031 ppm or 10ppb iirc. Salinity i keep at 1.025 and the big 3 are as follows

Cal - 420
Alk - 8
Mag - 1300

I dont test for anything else.

thanks for the reply.

I am using diy leds too, but found that keeping my alk > 9 will cause corals to stagnate. So I'm just trying to gather as much information from people with successful led sps tanks.

great looking tank, congrats!

That surge type flow you have going on in there is amazing! How are you doing that. I wish my bubble tip waved back and forth .

Any sump shots.

This is a very impressive tank. Nice job!!

The wave is made with a Tunze Nano Wavebox, i really like it and so do the corals, i dont think i would go without one on a tank again.

I will update this with a sump shot next time i have the camera out.

Thanks
