Here are my swap items and some other recent acquisitions. The pic quality sucks, sorry. Hopefully this won't be a memorial.

Did you take'em out to dip'em?? Do so to save you heartaches!!!! But sometimes it may be too late if they already travel around the tank just waiting to attack. IF it gets any worse, let me know. Have another solution for ya. :D

Its always a must to dip all new zoas before putting them into the tank. I am sure you have read up on them and how to erradicate them but be sure to look em over real good for egg sacks also.
I talked to a gal who was buying zoas at the swap and had never heard of nudies so lots of folks may spread them unknowingly. Buy IMO if someone has had a colony of zoas that have grown well enouph to frag they are "probably" OK. A colony with nudies will not thrive enouph to grow if it in fact has them I would think, but its just an out loud thought. Most problems come from the wild caught colonies we get and just stick in the tank is where we get em from. This is of coarse excluding someone who buys a new colony and instantly chops it up into fraggs ;).

Nice collection you have going! Good luck!

Yep, I dipped everything, but it doesn't kill the eggs, and in my inexperience, I must have visually missed them.

The fire and sky colony is covered in eggs and has been removed from the tank. I am probably going to treat the whole tank with flatworm exit ro get them all. Funny how the pests reproduce like crazy, but the stuff you want to never does.

FW exit will do nothing to nudies sadly. I wish there were a fast in tank treatment for the buggers! Are you sure they are nudies or not flatworms? google them and see what the pics look like to determine. The egg sacs are pretty easy to spot if you have a good pic to go off of or have seen them before. They are way bigger and more "hear I am!!" looking than I thought they would be. I scoured my new zoas like a mad man looking for things way tinyer than the size of the actual egg sacs I have found before.

OK, I just scanned the posts from the last few days and it is indeed nudies per your pics on another thread. Good advise given already and FWIW a infrared light for veiwing at night will not alarm any critters. For some reason the animals do not sence it like a flashlight and will not duck behind the closest zoa only to live to reinfest. I picked up a cool duel LED head flashlight thingy at home depo. It tilts and has a red LED and a white also you can choose. It has come in extreamly handy while I was looking over my rocks for tulips and aptasia to freeze off with ice cubes before I placed them in the main tank recently. I could point it right at my workstation no matter what direction I turned :). Its cool to sneal up on the tank at night to check things out with the red light also.

I have read folks putting something like red saran wrap over a normal light to somewhat discise themself in a pinch. Good luck.

Some of you remember the countless nights I went through in order to remove ALL of the nudibranch from my tank and I remove anywhere from 20-50 every night for about 2 months period. So add that up to see how bad it can get! It almost wipe out all my zoo colonies in my tank. It did take some out, but just a few colonies so not a huge loss. That's when I loss my tubs blues, but green star polyps didn't help either, it helped the nudis to kill the rest of the colony...lol....

Mike,

I am hoping I got lucky seeing the one on the glass and caught the infestation very early. I removed the egg colony and have gone two nights without seeing any nudis. That said, the colony with the eggs hasn't hatched yet, so any egg sacs still in the tank probably haven't either. I am still gonna nuke the tank though and I will not buy any more colonies, only frags.

I am also now seeing some whit spots, not eggs, on the RDEs stalks. Hoping this isn't the pox. Not having much fun with this hobby this time around.

nuking the tank won't help you with that issue!! Just take zoos out and give them all a good dip!!! Then start picking off the egg sacs...

WoW! What all new discoveries are found every day! I haven't surfed around much the last year and that is definetly a nice easy way to kill them! Thanks for the link and info!

I was too angry at the nudis to go halfsies.

Just be real careful with that stuff, it can kill your whole tank if you don't do it properly!!! I had a different option for ya but you never asked. There's a Wrasse that will eat them up like candy!!! I believe a Yellow Cori Wrasse, I have to ask Robert, he's been out of the hobby for a bit.... He had to fight them too until he got ahold of one of these wrasse and it ate all the nudibranch!
