2011 IMAS Officer
I have posted elsewhere on this forum but I wanted to post my tank alongside the other SPS junkies. My tank doesn't compare to everyone else's but it's my little slice of the ocean.
Tank has been running 6 months after downsizing
Lighting: 2x150w MH Radiums 3hrs a day
2x54w ATI Blue + & 2x54w Giesemann Lagoon Blue 8hrs a day
Flow: 2x425gph Koralia Nano on Hydor Wavemaker, 1x256gph Koralia Nano and 2xKoralia 2's
No Sump or Skimmer
Refugium/Filter: Aquaclear 100 with impeller snipped to slow flow. Has 2 media bags one with Seagel and the other with Purigen. Seagel changed monthly and Purigen biweekly.
Maintenance: Glass scraped daily, pumps cleaned monthly and 6 gal water change weekly.
Dosing: 15ml of Reef Complete Alk added to top off water daily. Reef Complete Calcium, Magnesium and Strontium in second bottle of top off water dosed twice a week. Seachem's Fuel dosed 2.5ml every other day.
Fish: Mccoskers Flasher Wrasse and a Candy Stripe Hogfish fed PE Mysis and Spurilina enriched brine. Comments, questions and feedback all welcomed!

Very nice collection of corals. Never compare your tank to others. As long your slice of the ocean makes you happy, thats what matters most. :) My own tank is a barebottom 47G filled with SPS...doesnt look much, but I am happy with it as it is growing my corals nicely.

You may want to try adjust the white balance on your camera if possible; it will show the coral colours better. The blue look kind of washes out the colours.

Nice setup though.

I completely agree, I use my phone to take pics and haven't figured out yet how to get the right representation of the real colors. Any ideas on how I can do that? I have a galaxy s4. Maybe that would be a good thread here! Thanks for the compliment as well!!

I've got an Iphone 4, and its crap for taking photos.

Your Samsung should be able to deal with the white balance fairly well, see this video:

Hope that helps! If it does, post some more shots! :D

Thanks for the link to the video. I'll experiment and see if I can get a better rep of the beautiful colors my babies have!

I seen the title of your thread and was going to say the same thing. Sahin beat me to it though :) You have a very nice tank. Enjoy it! James

+1000

I think your tank is looking great. Good work!

Thanks guys! Really appreciate the acknowledgements. Makes me feel good to know my hard work is paying off. Here is an updated pic of the 20 long as of today. I adjusted the white balance and this seems to be a pretty accurate representation of coral colors in the tank.

Thats much better white balancing. I can see many colours in there.
Now a few closer shots would be good. :D
