My tank after 1 year.

Very nice reef tank, the colours of your sps are superb.
You Brazilian's are good at this

Wow very impressive after a year. So if I understand your tank is just pellets, powermodule and skimmer? Do you dose anything for your biopellets? Also did you starting with frags or mini colonies? Do you do anything for calcium and Alk besides the geo reactor?

Hi Clowndude, I do check Iodide, Strontiun, Iron, and most importantly Potassium, every other week when I do a 10% water change, Potassium is always being depleted very fast because of the BPs, the rest are hardly corrected.
My GEO handles the system quite well so far, I did have problems with the PH Probe and I had to bring CA an KH back on track, but the water changes and the reactor are enough for me.
Most of the corals came as frags, but I did get one or 2 colonies at the beginning.

That tank is absolutely beautiful! Jealous forsure

Thanks !!!!!

Wow nice tank. Now I dont even want to look at mine

Hello Paros, thanks, I appreciate it!

Hi Gromero, Thank you very much!!

In Brazil everything related to aquariums is ridiculously EXPENSIVE and hard to find, so we kind of make it personal!!

Thanks for the kind comments, I'll update with more pics soon!!

Renato.

Love the overflow....i wonder why tank builders in the states don't do more builds like this......or any for that matter.

How does that overflow work? I see how it skims the surface water, but how does it drain out the tank? The overflow looks so slim I don't see how you can get a bulkhead in there.

really nice looking tank. your coral are beautiful color too.

Thanks Nam:thumbsup:

Hi JG, Mr Basso The father o Brazilian saltwater aquariums came up with this solution, it not only looks clean and nice, it works very well, and with a ball valve to regulate the flow it is dead silent. This is how it's built:

What test kits are you using to test your iodine and potassium. Also what supplements are u using to correct iodine and potassium?

I'v never considered testing for iodine....I dose kent lugols at 4 drops a week for a 115g system...perhaps I should get that hanna checker

Very nice tank!

The overflow design is brilliant. Very clean looking.

I'm guessing, if I understand it correctly, that the overflow boxes mounted and sealed to the bottom of the tank, don't have any access to inside of them..? Don't forget to put the bulkhead in there ahead of sealing them on to the tank?

JG, I'm on a crazy work schedule, I'm away from home 15 days every month, so I like to check everything when I go away, but with the 10% water changes I do every 15 days is enough to keep it stable, only the K that requires a close look because of the BPs.

Very nice tank!

Thanks REEF SMAC !!!

The bulkhead is glued with silicon inside the glass box and then the box is glued to the tank, you don't get access inside, since I use a ball valve to control the flow when I clean the tank I open the valve and the water flows very fast removing any debris that may settle in there.

Thanks texgv for the info. I'll have to look into getting that potassium test kit. Curious where mine is at. I've read somewhere that potassium helps get that deep rich color in sps. What do your sps look like when it starts to get low?

When it's off, I've got 2 very deepblue acros that start to get whiter.
