Here is one more thing to add to this crazy situation. last night I decided to take the broken pump apart. The pump seemed to be in good shape but the metal wires inside of the "plug cable" were gone! Let me try to explain this a little better

From about 6 inches from the broke power cable there was no metal inside the plastic. It is like some how the electricity + saltwater = dissolving of metal? Crazy huh. I meant to take some pictures but I forgot this morning. Now has anyone ever heard of this?

in the salt water moters for boats they add to magnets reverse polarized so that it wont eat up the electrical componits.
