They are filter feeders. I believe the sponge is an orange tree sponge, and I have a red one too.

And when youre out of town, your little fishies will die since I wouldnt be able to feed them becuase I cant open it. I think that me taking care of your tank while youre at work or out of town is a great trade for frags. Oh yeah, I will be stealing a few hairys today
