My Tank Thread

I'm a member of **!!!!!!
I figure I might as well have 1 too :)

well since I just did a tank reset after a year due to ich/red turf/bubble algae.

so here it is...

added a sump 20L
BRS dual reactor
CPR aquafuge 2 (large) in-sump
Eshopps PF-800 overflow
Sicce 3.0 return pump

The tank has been sat with no nothing/no light for 30 days
just started the light cycle 2 weeks ago

here is the in-sump fuge
<a href="http://s217.photobucket.com/albums/cc262/briankmarsh1980/?action=view&current=DSCN0641.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc262/briankmarsh1980/DSCN0641.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
and everything else in QT patiently waiting
<a href="http://s217.photobucket.com/albums/cc262/briankmarsh1980/?action=view&current=DSCN0642.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc262/briankmarsh1980/DSCN0642.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

the overflow splits..1" to sump, 3/4 to fuge
I must say the sicce pump is a powerhouse, i have the reactor running off it and its turned down cause the overflow still can't handle it.
the fuge is on a slow trickle with a via aqua pump to give circulation in the fuge
the reactor has been modified so I can adjust the water flow in each chamber.

the powerhead you see is an evo-1400 there are 2 more 1050's behind the rocks.

there is a ball valve going into the reactor feeding both chambers then on the back of the GFO os another valve going to the other... giving me control of flow to the reactor and letting me adjust the flow to both chambers, not my original design:)

Nice work man, looks like you got the sump squeaky clean!
The filter sock schedule will be very beneficial in keeping detritus from settling down there...set a reminder on your phone if you find yourself forgetting to swap them out. I'll try to get over there Sunday with the Hanna to re-check that the Phosphates are down to 0.00ppm from the 0.01ppm since implementation of the GFO.
You got that fish list going yet?:)

Finally started putting my tank back together.

Do you get any vibration noise coming from the return pump? I only ask because it looks like its all PVC from the pump to the tank.

Nice

I always thought you would hear some vibration if nylon hose/spa-flex wasnt used in a section.

Other than that, the tank looks good! Im glad you overcame your algea problem.

the bends and length in pipe are perfect so it doesn't really sit on anything just goes straight into the water....
and yes im glad my algae problem is gone

fish list is small so far
yellow eye kole tang
coral beauty butterfly
Leopard Wrasse
(Macropharyngodon meleagris)MALE
Blue/Green Reef Chromis
there are more I want but not available

The leather looks happy:)
I'll be ready for another round of fish in a couple weeks and may order what I want...kinda getting tired of waiting so lmk.

Looks good.

I have a suggestion though, I'd put the heater in the display. If the return pump fails while your away (they never fail when it's convenient) your tank will get chilly. And maybe pick up a Ranco on eBay to turn it on and off with.

added a couple more zoas and a couple pics I thought were cool
