A lot of patience. However if that fails, I have gotten a brute can or two and emptied almost all the water out. That has always worked although I wasn't trying to catch such a small fish.Any tricks to being successful with a fish trap? I’m still having no luck.
Hopefully if the lights were stressing the pseudochromis and hawkfish, they will reappear when the lights are on a set schedule. If you follow the Euroquatics thread (DIY forum) you’ll see I was having some issues with my lights. So, not much exciting has happened. I finally got a fix in place for the lights.
I did buy a second Brute so now I have a temporary topoff and salt mixing station. I need to make something permanent.
Doing a 20 gallon water change later today.
Some bad news, I thing the lights being wonky, running on weird schedules and sometimes staying on all night stressed out my Pseudochromis and Hawkfish. I haven’t seen either in two days
I also learned that I cannot keep LPS (Hammer coral in particular) thanks to the Filefish.
Oh, I’m not complaining, it’s all part of the hobby. I’m dealing with horrible Cyano too.Hopefully if the lights were stressing the pseudochromis and hawkfish, they will reappear when the lights are on a set schedule.
Yes, I believe I remember that filefish could get a taste for some coral. If its not one thing then its another!
Hang in there, it will all work out!
Yay! It is probably legit because scammers answer and try to pressure a money deal right away. Ask me how I know that, LOL? Luckily I wasn't willing to send any $ and told them if they wanted my tank that it was a cash deal only and they needed to pick it up. I still have the tank which I need to put up for sale again.Listed my 40 for sale. Within 30 minutes, I had someone reach out asking if they could pick up next weekend. Hopefully, this is legit and then we can focus on phase 2 of the basement remodel.
I’m using a mix of various Caribsea dry and “live” sand. What sand are you using and from where. I'm looking for actual live sand. I wish I could find that Old Castle sand I used to get from Home Depot, but that's long gone, company no long has that sand. So, got to find some for my 55 gallon, reef I setting back up. I don't plan on having a lot in it, just something to occupy some time when I retire in a couple of months. So, what are you/others using?
Just an inch or two of Carib Sea sand and Carib Sea life (dry) rock which came purple so the DT looked great right off the start. 6 years later, still purple. What sand are you using and from where. Then “Cheers” (sound of glasses clinking)Buyer for the 40 is supposed to come get it between 3-4 this afternoon. It will be nice to get that out and let Mike finish the drywall. Then, carpet in phase 2. Our son is going to build a dry bar in phase 1 as Mrs griss has always wanted a bar. I grew up in houses with one and don’t really care either way lol.
I think both. We had the basement finished in a kid friendly manner and for the 450 reef. Since the 450 is long gone and the kids are grown, we decided to redo the basement more to our liking. Then “Cheers” (sound of glasses clinking)
Are you building a house or a tank,or it looks like both.
Wow George, you had a 450 gallon reef? How long ago was that?I think both. We had the basement finished in a kid friendly manner and for the 450 reef. Since the 450 is long gone and the kids are grown, we decided to redo the basement more to our liking.
