My Ultimate Multi Mantis System(s)

Is moving to Indonesia purely based upon your hunt for these rare species? If so, the dedication is simply remarkable :L

I don't really understand the few people that over emphasize what I do or I just don't see what they do, dedication, passion, I'm just doing what I want to do with something I like to do! :D

Over the past few days I have been very busy with a huuuuge image that I have been putting together!

It's 15360 x 8640 resolution!...... O_O (8x 1920x1080)

It is 'the' mantis armada and I have put a fair bit of effort into it to make it look similar to a huge "old skool human" army on the march...

There are captains, lieutenants, commanders, musicians, flag bearers, war chariots, war beasts, over 50 regiments....in total over 1200 stomatopods! :D

The reason the image is so large will become apparent once its done and public.

Need to get the embroidery done :D

I am still here people! :)

Phase 2 is well under way and I am no longer situated in Australia but the mother land of mantis itself!

This photo below is a snap I took of my new backyard in my new home.... :D

I've given a list of unique stomatopod species to my new 'collectors' here whom are going to be heading out to Lombok / Lembah and other now local places to acquire my new "cast"...

Certainly ain't going to be like before with only 2 of them being the 'bread n butter' species (O.scy/L.mac) the rest are very unique/rare and I am more then confident that the locals will find them, I have extremely good standings with them as I have known many for over 10yrs now.

Step by Step, slowly slowly :) I will not only return to what I was once doing but surpass it 10x fold!

The new building has also begun construction and I have gone to great detail to make it effectively a mantis HQ of sorts with carvings and other "details" adorned into the walls and all over the property itself. :D

Did I also happen to mention that a 10ft tall Mantisman was being constructed ;) it's being made in the same manner that the locals make these other giant monsters that they use for their new years celebrations, so it will be done extremely well and detailed should look exactly as that which I have on paper :D pending the "stance".

Caught a Peacock Mantis (Female) BEAUTIFUL coloration & health a very flawless specimen which speaks volumes for the local population of Stomatopods but I knew that already by the sheer quantity of peacocks here, they are the only species I have seen so far in the wild and have always seen 1-3 per dive so far, their literally everywhere! :D

This one is to be sacrificed for a purpose that will become apparent soon enough.... ;)

Yet it takes me MONTHS to get one.

That's awesome. Very jealous

I've seen too many too count hahaha....and there are also countless burrows in the reef out front for the O.scy their presence is very encouraging being one of the more overall touchy species of smasher, I couldn't believe how healthy and vibrant this one looked sooo Schmick with no damage (aside missing eye) and not a trace of shell rot, verry encouraging!

Having said that all that I have seen so far have not had shell rot either that I have seen IN the water this is just the first caught....and in a fish net haha (the long vertical type net not the enclosed style....it was all tangled up, think an eel had a go at it and maybe got the missing eye before getting a crack to the noggin' lol...

If you have access to so many, maybe you can try collecting and selling them. An online website exclusive to selling stomatpods.

Perhaps....but I doubt it.

I do not see the support / demand exclusively for them...

Sure I would love to and sure people like yourself and myself would love to be we are far to few (as hard as I work to publicize them more).

True, but I think it might still be possible to maybe partnership with LFS or wholesalers. Especially since pretty much every other collecter out there can't tell the difference between O. scyllarus and G. chiragra half the time, you would be a more reliable source.

Only issue would be housing the animals, ain't like they come in one size and share the same burrows and coexist with each other....

If I knew with full confidence that the demand is there then everything else will be rather trivial and easy like storing etc.

But I do not believe the demand warrants such a specific kind of trade...I know there was something along the lines of what you speak of but about 10yrs ago and that stomatopod based seller went belly up because of the lack of demand even though I think it was more hobby then business...

Did you find that peacock already dead when you pulled it up. Coloration is incredible. Ibluewater had one similar that they were selling for $400
