My v-day present

I got my valentines day present early It's my very first clam and I'm quite excited! It's a maxima and is about 3" across or so. Not the best pics but I'm not used to photographing clams!

Let's hope not...in all seriousness, it does look like it has pinched mantle but if it is newly added it may not have settled in yet. It has great colors too.

if it does have a pinched mantle, i think you can do a fresh water dip to help it out, im not 100% sure... I think a pinched mantle is a parasitic response from the clam... may want to visit clamsdirect.com and ask barry...

It should open up much wider soon, these are two of my 3 clams, sometimes they open so wide I think they are gonna split.

Let us know if it doesn't open up in a few hours.

My derasa doesn't open quite that much, but its also only about 2.5 - 3" long. So in comparison maybe it is open as much.

It's opening more...it was moved from one tank, acclimated to another, then I bought it while it was still acclimating to the other tank. So, it's had to get used to 3 tanks recently. It was open much wider in the first tank and as I said it's getting used to things I think

That is my daughters FAVORITE movie AND soundtrack. She watches it about once a week now- Used to be more. Listens to the music almost every day (she's 4-1/2)

My wife has been columbia for halloween twice. I'll have to dig up some pics
