My Weed Garden...

I pay monthly for photoshop cloud, and lightroom :)

all i have is my phone for pics, one of these days ill buy a dedicated camera.

i see on the back of one of the rocks i got from a local reefer, i might have gotten a baby kenya tree, i have to turn it around and snap a picture yet, but im pretty sure thats what it is, its only about 1 inch tall so far though.

Those guys grow super fast and don't care about light or water quality. I happen to like them. I like their shape, their color and the swaying int he current so I don't care if they overgrow.

Great project!

I love soft corals too. They just give a diferent feeling to the tank with all their movement.

Do you have the link for the thread of that tank you showed? :)

Your tank is coming along nicely! I really like how the zoas look...i've been considering adding some to my tank, think i might cave and pick up some next weekend...

Thanks. Yeah, I wasn't going to go with zoas at first (all that toxin talk), but really they are beautiful, especially the small polyp ones. These are a nice green with a bright pink center. There are some other ones I can get really cheap that are a bright red with a dark center too.

Do you get them from a LFS or is there an online store you got them?

I work at an Ace Hardware with a huge Pet Department that has a pretty extensive saltwater section, so I get all my livestock there. Almost all of our corals are ORA. Some aren't and most of my softies weren't.

O.o your ace hardware has a pet department, sounds awesome :P In your tank, not to spark any long debate, but it looks like your using all dry rock, just personal preference over live rock?

Yes, all dry rock. I wanted to minimize unwanted hitchhikers, but mostly I wanted to spend a lot of time sculpting and building my rockscape. Any live rock used for that purpose would have all died off before using it. Took me a couple months to get it the way I wanted. It'll all be live soon enough anyway.

Awesome Idea! I can't keep those purple kenya trees for the life of me though. Everytime I get a frag, it melts over the course of two days. The brown one grows fine though. I did a whole carpet of metallic GSP in one of my tanks but it was just too much work keeping it in check. Ran right over all my zoa and rics. Cant wait to see how your tank progresses.

He's still a bit shy and hard to photograph. He's getting more used to his surroundings and does come out at feeding time. I don't think he knows he's the biggest fish in the sea yet.

Can't wait until he's out and about on a regular basis to get some great photos. He's the most beautiful Coral Beauty I've ever seen. It has a lot of brilliant reds on his face, throat and belly (much more so than others I've seen). Brilliant blues, purples, reds, yellows, oranges, etc.

It's my last and final fish addition which puts my count up to 8 total, which is enough for my display tank (together with my sump I have about 70 gallons total water volume).
