Myrtle Beach LFSs

plenty of good shops to visit. all the good ones are on the south end of mytle beach into surfside. names in post above mine are all great shops.

Chad always likes to leave on out. There another good one on the North end, Sea Critters Depot, if you are down on that end.

Lots of LPS SPS Zoos etc, and great fish.

i didn't leave any out i just gave my opionion on the good ones that i support thats all. i figured others would post the ones they support as well

Thanks for all the info...will be staying in NMB, but we always try to run into Murrells Inlet while we're vacationing.

Hey Guys,

My wife and I will be in Myrtle Beach for a veterinary conference June 18-22. We would love to hit some LFS while there.

We like the super nice stuff, high end fish and SPS.

We are flying any LFS that will ship once we return?

We will be at the Springmaid Beach Resort.

Any suggestions would be great, or websites. We are flying in so will not be renting a car and would like to avoid cab fare to a store that we might not be interested in.

Any suggestions/opinions would be great!

I havent been to the store that is the furthest south (Exotc Fish South), but have been to the other 3 in town. Sea Critters Depot would probably be the best bet for high end fish, and I hear they are getting in a lot of nice corals recently. As for my opinion though, most of the stuff in these stores (corals and fish) are at entry level. There is a good selection of mid level stuff as well, with only something 'high' end or 'rare' coming in every once in a while.

The Reef Shoppe, Exotic Fish South, and Coastline Pet Supply are all a short ride from where you will be, but Sea critters Depot is about a 40-45 minute ride if traffic cooperates. That would make for a hefty cab fare, IMO.

The best bet would be getting with some of the local reefers. Ive been out of the game for a while (getting back in though :D) or Id help, but the guys in this club keep some really nice corals. I dont know that any one is comfortable shipping though, reefers or shops for that matter.

If youd like me too, I can get the telephone numbers for the stores so you can contact them about their stock before you waste a ride. IMO, any shop is worth visiting, but if I was somewhere I didnt have a car, I may think otherwise. :D
