mystery fish, ID please, any ideas?

This fish is only about 1 inch, it was caught in Port Aransas, Texas while collecting peppermint shrimp and a few sergeant majors.
It was in a rock jetty with the above mentioned critters. We got a few sergeant majors and found a couple of these in with them.

Looking on the web the only thing that looked remotley similar was a grunt.

I imagine this fish is probably a very young juvenile so I have no idea what it will look like when grown. Anyone seen one before?

It's a Lutjanus apodus - schoolmaster snapper, or perhaps a sister species from the Gulf. They don't look like this when they get a few inches longer, the horizontal stripes get more distinct.

I found a few pictures of juveniles and that certainly looks like what I have. I may have to start a fish only tank when he gets a bit bigger.
 
HI IVE BEEN DOWN TO THE PORT A JETTIES THIS WEEK AS WELL.... WHEN THE SURF WAS ALL FLAT.... I DIDNT SEE THAT FISH... I CAUGHT A JUV DUSK DAMSEL AT THE JP JETTIES.... AND I THINK I SAW A JUV BUTTERFLY FISH... DID YOU SEE ALL THE STAR CORAL GROWING ON THE JETTIE ROCKS AT PORT A? IM WONDERING HOW FAR OUT ON THE JETTIES DID YOU GO AND WHAT ELSE DID YOU FIND ? AND WHAT KIND OF NET DID YOU USE TO CATCH THE FISH ?
