Mystery wrasse safe with shrimp?

Wondering if anyone is keeping one of these wrasses and if it is safe with ornamental shrimp?

My lfs said he had one that eventualy killed his cleaner shrimp. Live Aquaria says it is a possibility. I just bought the wrasse but have no shrimp, and don't want to give the fish a 30 dollar snack. Any first hand experiences?

Usually if the shrimp is there first and is large enough it's not an issue. Also if you got a large shrimp (too big to eat) and introduced it after lights out while wrasse is in his sleeping hiding spot. Not a guarantee but makes your chances much better. Good luck!

I wanted one too, but skipped on it because of the shrimp danger.

Eventually the wrasse will go looking for his $30 meal. I had wrasse with shrimp and all was well until the wrasse grew larger then my cleaner shrimp got cleaned out.

I have had one for 6 months with a fire shrimp. The shrimp was in the tank first. We'll see if it lasts.
