N. Wennerae mantis with coral questions

Im going to get a N. Wennerae mantis. What coral is ok with this? Should I get the coral or mantis first? It will be in a 12g JBJ nano.
 
The only coral that couldn't handle this (assuming you have proper lighting) might be hard corals, which could be burrowed into if they were big enough, but even that is unlikely. Just glue the frags down so the mantis can't move them.

Yep make sure your corals are well attached. Mantis are known to use what ever they can find, to decorate their homes, and neighborhoods.
 
What do you think for live rock. Like how much. I currently have 15lbs in it. But a 12g JBJ nano with 15lbs covers alot of area. Here is a pic before sand.

This looks about right. You could take some off (like that top "spike") to make room for frags. Add 10-15 lbs of sand. While you're in there, you can add some PVC "caves" under the sand with openings in visible places.
