No problem on the xenia Edward. It should be 2007, but it's too late to change it.

Thanks Brian.

I've noticed that you have your zoas under strong light and they are growing like weeds. Is strong lighting a better choice for them or does it not matter?

I'm curious as to why you use the Lighthouse for light control - RK2 can't handle the ATLS or what?

Oh yeah, beautiful photos as usual!
Actually, my ACLS is hooked up to RK2 just incase my chiller fails, it's set to shut off my lights at 84 deg. I only use the Lighthouse controller to monitor my tank parameters via online.

I think it does matter. My lights were too strong for tub's blue zoa's b/c it lost most of the blue colors. But, some of the new polyps starting to have the blue colors back. My zoas/palys look the best just under the T5 lights.

Hi Naka,

Sorry if I'm asking you this question again, but I'm trying to find out what's best for my system:

How many microns are your filter bags ?

Thanks,
Ginzo

Did you decide on your tank dimensions based on that light fixture, or vice versa? BTW, are you using this light?

Infinity XR4 2X400
120 X 55 cm
2 x 400 W MH
4 x 54 W T5

Thanks,
Mike

So sorry, found the answer about the light in the thread (like twice, I think :( ).

Still curious about your tank dimensions, though. And while I'm at it, I'm also curious as to why you went with an RK2 + Lighthouse instead of an all-in-one controller that could handle all of the functions you use?

I went w/ 60 x 30 x 24 b/c that's the space I had in my livingroom. Last year RK2 didn't have the internet monitoring feature, so I purchased the lighthouse controller.

Thanks for you reply Naka :)

One last thing, do you use UVs on your system ? Do you recommend them ?

I believe it's 100 micron. Sorry for not answering earlier :)

I don't use UV b/c of zeovit (bacteria) method to reduce nutrient. I've never used UV before in my system, so I wouldn't know.

James

Since you use Zeovit, I assume you're running carbon 24/7. If so, are you running it actively via a reactor and if so, what are you using? Also, do you use Phosphate-removing media?

Thanks for your reply. I may be asking several more questions in the near future, as I plan on ordering a tank very similar to yours tomorrow :D . I chose the dimensions not based on what you've done, but I actually selected it due to the light fixture I want to use. Anyway, I don't want to hijack your wonderful thread with information about my future tank, just wanted you to know why I'm so inquisitive. Your success is truely something to learn from.

Cheers,
Mike

You mean my office tank?
Umm, no you don't :(

Are you guys related? We have "thedude" and dudester. :)

No problem on answer questions guys, and yes I started feeding Pappone to my corals last month. I'm feeding my dendros and micros all kinds of mixed seafood before, so I figure why not just target feed them Pappone instead. That way my sps can feast on the leftovers.
