Naka,

Sorry if I am late by asking this.

What is the exact way your prepare your Pappone?
What is in your mix?

Thanks also do you have a link to that Italian tank you are talking about.

Thanks.....

That birdnest is awesome!!

This is the beginning of a beautiful tank. I see so much potential. I have a ton of japanese tanks I visit every so often and yours reminds me of them. When the tank is young, all corals are small.. and then 2 yrs later, everything looks grown out and the colors are awesome. All tanks go through this phase, but only some know how to maintain the husbandry the corals need. Your on the right path.

Naka,
First Congrats on your little boy.

I love your tank and have a couple beginner questions. You mentioned L43 for your R/O, not sure if that has anything to do with your kalk? My tanks are currently on F/o with lr and soem little stuf. What is zeovit?

Thanks,
Eric

tank is looking awsome naka, still my favorite tank.
cant wait to see the zoas and other corals cover the bottom of the tank :)

did you get that lil pm about duncan placement? Im having trouble with my flow and placing it. what kind of flow and light is yours in?
thanks in advance for the reply..

Thanks guys. I prepare the pappone mix just like the instruction says. Edward, thanks for the kind words.

Nick, I don't have any duncans, but my LFS keeps theirs high and heavy feeding. In 3 months it has grown more than 15 mouths. I think you'll be happy w/ everyday feeding.

how much are you dosing of pappone for your tank. I have been using it for about as long as fishfanatic06(he gave me some to try) and my coral love it and the color changes in the past weeks is crazy. Also i have noticed great growth. It would be freakish to see how well that stuff works with the HGH.

Naka love the pics

tank is looking great naka. did you change water specs when you went from zeo to pappone? If so what are your target specs now?

Chad

Nick, you might have mistaken for my dendros.
Kigs here are the Orenji and m. setosa.

Thanks Chad. Did you ever get your lights all straightend out? fuse?

I've been raising my parameters to ALK 9 dkh, Cal. 460, PH 8.3, MG 1300+ It took me over 2 months to get it where it is now.
I must have gone through 2 boxes of Salifert Alk test kits.

I feed about thumb nail size pappone everyday. I dissolve it in my
tank water, then feed it to all my lps (dendros, goni, micro, acan, etc.)

yes James, I was sent some replacement parts from Italy. I replaced the parts last weekend and to this day (crossing fingers) everything is going good. Hopefully just a little hickup, I love the output/spread of the fixture.

Have you played around any w/ different T-5's. I'd like to find something w/ a little more of the VHO actinic look. I've heard the aquascience bulbs have great output but I don't know anything about spectrum on their bulbs.

Setosa and Monti look great. I'm thinking my setosa is not doing much becouse of my reef ceramics. I'm pulling them out and going w/ LR.

Hope the little one is doing well.

I understand that you use the zeovit system in combination with the pappone. Did you use sugar in the pappone recipe? People that have done a ZEO/Pappone hybrid method have noticed RTN or STN. Why? The sugar is a carbon source. So is the Zeo Start 2. Supposedly if these are both used in combination your corals will suffer. You have an awesome reef and I wouldn't want to see it go because of a mistake like this. Just a word of warning though.
I realize this is a late comment, but it's probably worthwhile. As I understand it, ZEOvit and pappone can be used simultaneously IF you remove the sugar ingredient from the pappone.

Chad, I'm glad your lights are back on track. I'm loving my ATI blue plus and UVL SA combo. I'm not too much of light geek, but I'm pretty happy w/ this combo. Noah's doing fine, thanks for asking :)

Dudester, I knew about the sugar free pappone, but I'm getting good results w/out the zeovit. I have all the equipment and bottles, so when the time comes I might just go back to it.
