Name your tang!

he looks great I used to have a juvi but my he was too shy for my tank so I gave him to a friend and the purple in his tank wouldn't leave him alone so the purple came to my tank. then when I set up the 75 I had to have another

you are sure no tang police?? Well...

In our 110 gal set last october we have a 4 inches scopas (since before that tank), a 5 inches flav since january, a 3 1/2 inches sailfin since february (was 2 1/2 and very very thin, now it is very fat and growing fast:eek1: :eek1: ) and... a 4 inches lineatus since march (it grows fast too!!). And... a 3 inches juvenile imperator angel(since two weeks, and already almost the new boss), a 5 inches lamark angel, and the remaining more little fishes...

The boss is the flav, the scopas would like to be the boss but is too little compared to the flav. By chance the flav is not aggressive if not challenged. The sailfin is cool and calm, but can do the "big big" sailfin if necessary. The lineatus is still nice, relatively calm, except after lunch when it becomes a little bit crazy. I hope it will stay not worse than that...

You should see the show when I give them a nori sheet and the four tangs and two angels feed on it at the same time

BTW I would like to know about experiences you had with the lineatus, good or bad. Thanks!

Man, I just LOVE being called out!!! :D Here you go.

Granted this was a few years ago (2003) so the fish were a bit smaller but you have to admit, getting four tangs together in one shot is quite an accomplishment at any size. Haven't managed to get 'em since but I will keep trying. Never know when I'm gonna get called out again. ;)
Hey 64Ivy, thanks for coming through. That's a fabulous pic. That Sohal looks like he's the king and he's just giving the little guys a chance before he digs in.:p I'm not that familiar with the less common tangs, so I have to ask you to confirm whether those are two Mimic Tangs at the bottom left and right of the pic.

Thanks again.

Oh, and I'm now calling you out on an updated pic of your now bigger guys all in one shot!:D

Raymond:)

Be sure to follow up with pics of his transition. I'd love to see them.;)

I haven't heard of any dussumieri tangs. He he he. I've got one, changing color at 5" in a 29 gallon tank.....................Quarintine tank, that is. Gotcha tang police. LOL.

The large system I bought had a large dussumieri in it when I got it. The guy I got it from gave it to his buddy though, I didn't get to keep it. I beleive there are picks of it in the first few pics of the tank in my thread about the system.

they are a cool fish that can be bossy not to expensive but cool I've only seen a couple in person

4 in Achilles in a 220. So far its the only tang in the tank, but once all the live rock is in place and corals are moved from the other systems, we will be putting in our Vlamingi and Chevron. We have a few SPS colonies and clams in there as of now, with 2 tunzes. Finished tank will have a boat load of SPS and clams, and a few softies and LPS, with 4 tunzes, 2 6000s & 2 6200s.

I have a Juvi Red Sea Sailfin Tang named Poon in my 135g reef. Great looking fish

I am looking to get another Tang in the future but still on the fence on what to get.
