Just a local welder/artist. He did some works for my company here in the bay area before.

Best bet is go to a local welding supplier and ask them for a few refs. Since you are So Cal; see if Jar*Head can hook you up :D

Mmmm, Ocean Import Logistics - how's them containers been treating you :D

Dennis

Yeah Ocean Import is Great still a steady flow of import even with the way economy is going.

Yeah i contacted Jar Head but the guy who made his stand is not making them any more :( so i will have to find some one local here who can make me one.

plans look good so far.

Savethereef, he is very busy with family stuff. He didn't even have the time to build my light rack for me :(. ATA build his tank and mine...

Well, it is a week late. But, my stand finally arrived last night. Here is some pics; the tank won't be ship till next Monday :(

At least I have something to do this weekend :D

Here is a shot where the tank will be at. I may have to add two more solartubes. The plan is to run 2-400 watts MH in the middle with 4- 72" VHO.

I love the solar tubes too.. They are sweet and just think what they contribute and save. Are you going to do the other 2?

That is funny with your stand guy. it looks like it is super strong...

Nice build. Looks like Steve has infected you as well with the waveboxes. I just had a 240 built with 2 integrated waveboxes. Sure beats exposed waveboxes.... yuk!

I love the idea of going green; doesn't hurt to save some money either :D I should recover the cost in year and a half (2-400 watts bulbs and electricity)

I am still debating about the 2 other additions. Gonna wait to see how the 3.8Kw solar system perform

Long time no see Andy... You make it sound like i am some type of virus....:D. How is your baby?

Yep, a contageous virus at that! :D

Baby Ethan is doing great and yours?

I got my Miracles 240 gallon tank and stand and in fact I just test fit my first Tunze wavebox stream. I was a bit concerned because the hole wasn't centered like it was supposed to be on the drawing, but it fits great. Good thing. The crazy thing is that Derek even offered to build a new tank if necessary. :eek1: I'll have to start a thread soon instead of hi-jacking everyone elses. I have lots of pics.

Andy, my baby doing well. Congrats on the new tank. Unfortunately i won't be able to setup my tank till i finally settle and my daughter getting a bit older. Please start the thread and show us the tank. :D

Got a call from the trucking company last night. And the tank is finally here :D

Look down the street I saw this:
PA090046.jpg

A little overkill, the entire truck only have one item - my tank and sump. My heart drop when I saw this:( [no that is not me]

Took the exception and hopfully there are no damage

I will post some pics later.

Dennis

If there was that much damage on the box, I would have made sure the driver stuck around until every inch of the tank was inspected. I'm surprised to see the cardboard packaging. I'd expect such a large investment to be crated. Mine was crated and I still tore down the entire crate before I let the driver go.
