Nano Reactor

Can anyone recommend a good nano- media reactor? Im looking for a reactor that can run both GFO and Carbon.

I have an IM38 and am looking for something that would fit in the central "sump" compartment.

I tried this one - http://www.aquacave.com/CPR-Aquatic...r-P3840.aspx?gclid=CIvCuuuYubwCFUJo7AodHhkAHQ

And while it worked ok, the top is so badly designed that eventually, media would spill out. Also, the pads they give you to keep the media separated eventually move and all the media mixes together.

I designed my own reactor but the chambers came out too small and now with the kid I don't really have time to build a new one.

Thanks.

the smallest reactor is a mesh media bag :) No seriously, sometimes we overlook the simple solutions. Im still on the hunt for a GFO reactor that doesn't use sponges but which doesnt clog (in a week or two, max) or pulverize the media.

Have you looked at the Cad Light reactor? I want it for my nano but I want to figure out if it can be modded to direct the flow into the skimmer chamber.

The IM minimax is awesome. Great design. They have on slightly larger as well. My opinion, lol;)

Thanks. I actually hadn't seen that one. I had seen the old version (think it was called something else). This design is way better but it has two issues: 1) I don't think it's meant to run two medias (or has enough space to do so) and 2) I would prefer a submersible reactor so it doesn't stick out the top of the rear chamber.

I know, I'm asking for a lot here.

Lol...good point and yes we do! But I just don't think they work as well or use the media effectively. It's tough to place them in an area where they get good flow through the bags and also they are a pain to clean compared to plastic chamber reactors.

The cad lights looks pretty cool but also not sure it can run both carbon and gfo at the same time. The videos of it that I can find are broken. Also, I've read a lot of mixed reviews on Cadlights products in general but a few too many bad ones for my taste.

All fish has IM reactor for the 30 and 38 30% off right now

Thanks, good to know if I go this route.

Jorge, have you seen the DIY reactors people have made with Voss water bottles?

Just googled them Marvin. Pretty cool. People are a hell of a lot more creative than I am. lol.

But again, not sure how there would work with both medias?

Thats the one I already tried (and still have). Thanks though. Problem with it is that the sponges don't hold
