Nano skimmer help

Roger
I am having trouble adjusting the nano skimmer. It has been running about a week and will not stop overflowing the collection cup. I have the air adjustment screw turn in as far as possible but it still over flows. I have also lowered the water level below the blue line and still doing the same, any suggestions?

Can you tell me more about the tank? Is it a new set up, are you using any sorts of additives, especially vitamins, amino acids, or slime algae killers?

Roger
It is a 36gal bow that has been setup for about 16 months.
I had an air driven skimmer in the sump that was doing ok but wanted something better. I am not using any additives at all, just a 5 gal water change about every 2-3 weeks.
I was using AZ-NO3 back in february but stop after a weeek or so.
The sump is a trickle filter with a filter pad on top of the bioball chamber, total gal about 7.
There are 3 small fish, about 80lbs rock and phosban reactor.

Thanks

How far below the blue line do you have it running? I would try for about 1/2"-3/4"

Roger
I adjusted the the water level to an inch below the line and have the air screw as far in as possible and it is still filling up with water. Any more suggestions?

Try it in another tank, it is possible that it is the AZNO3. See if a local store or friend will let you hook it up for a test run.

I tried the nano skimmer on my frag tank at home. Placed in the sump with the water level about 1.5" below the line and within 2 hours the cup was filled with water. I also put my original skimmer in the 36 gal bow tank and it is working just fine.
What next?

Do you see anything obvious? Is the screw very loose fitting or is the top housing cracked? Is this an older one with bracket for mounting or does it have the magnet holder?

I didn't notice anything, the screw is tight but seems a bit short not sure if it is suppose to cover the hole. Cup is not crack and it has a mounting bracket.
